Oh yeah i notice the difference, it doesn't look like shit. Textures and Anti-Aliasing has been improved while the blurriness was removed.

I tried playing one of the Final Fantasys on the pcsx2 emulator a year ago or so and it ran horribly. Has the emulation gotten better over the past year or should I try again?

@ Zytos
Has your PC gotten better over the past year ? lolz

Seriously, most games require a lot of power, especially CPU. Try again ... newer pcsx2 version, newer plugins, should be better.

You definitely should, or you'll miss out on all the references etc. from the first one. Plus Fallout 1 in itself is an awesome game, some think it's better than the second.

I took that screenshot with internal D3D resolution of 1500x1500 if I remember correctly. That's around 3x the default PS2 resolution, so as you can see improvement is amazing.

Yes it has gotten much much better. For example, you can play all of PS2 Final Fantasy from start to finish bug free, as well as many other good games (kingdom hearts, dark cloud2, xenosaga, grandia3, persona 3). I spent like 10 hours in FF10 already and noticed only a very few tiny gfx glitches (they are so small and irrelevant that if you aren't looking for them you probably won't even know they are there), overall it looks amazing in high resolution.

But here's the catch, you need to have some time to find the best selection of plugins and settings within PCSX2. If you don't have a fast Core2Duo you shouldn't even bother with emulator, as you won't be able to play at 60fps, which is required for PS2 NTSC games to be smooth. Even if you have C2D you have to OC it as much as you can. Quad Core is useless coz cores are clocked much lower than c2d and emulator only works on 2 cores. You also need Vista, as graphics plugin has DX10 hardware acceleration, which gives superior quality and speed compared to DX9 option. (yes vista is recommended by pcsx2 developers), Oh and you need a gamepad Smile

Hai! I was thinking of buying a gamepad for all my emulation and console ports to pc needs. Which one do you recommend? You others are allowed to answer aswell.
