yeah, no doubt i'd hate to lose _chemical_ effects such as orgasm pleasure, adrenaline effect from doing something crazy (like hitting 250km/h+ with a car on a narrow road)..
though i dont think i'll ever fell in love with anyone, i think i've subconsciously added enough of this "in control" shit to my mind:-]

How can you be free if you lock yourself away from life, ie all that isn't dead ie known & understood. Its the variables in life you cant control that gives life spice. Thats why falling in love is so unique you are able to share the sensation of awe with another person.
Fell free to lock yourself in a box of security mechanisms that prevent you from growing out of your current perspective on life, but don't make the mistake your free minded. If anything you are chained down by your inability to love to share the challenge of developing your capacity to deal with that which you cannot explain.
All great thinkers & lovers live each day delving deeper into the mystery of life, seeking out deeper understanding of life, of the spice that makes things more than dead & understood. Whether the focus is an invention, a scientific discovery, a murder or a lover. The potency is so strong you forget to do the ordinary animalisitic things like bathe, eat, sleep. Calling said human capacity just brain activity, is like calling the ocean, wet. 
Don't mistake cowardice for sense, a person with sense knows using blinkering prejudice to alienate yourself from groups of people who are not afraid of the more mysterious & currently uncontrollable variables humans experience, isn't even remotely smart. its just bullshit ignorance, the kind of thing people who are too scared to do even the most fundamentally human things in life like care.
Word to the wize 
You want to be free & be smart, learn how to relish in mercilessly devouring your ignorance rather than using it to protect yourself from growing smarter & more alive. Love is scary sh!t, it makes you give up your self important fears, give up what you tell yourself you are, makes you see what you really are. Thats why little children can't manage it, they are too self absorbed to bridge the gap of selflessness necessary to see the world through somebody else's eyes. You will never know what you actually know or are, see your lies from your truths, until you can view your true self through somebody else's eyes honestly. When you love you not only get access to that kind of data you offer that kind of access.

Chin you a fan of Jung too eh? I think he was a brilliant man. Some of his theories and ideas on alterted states of the mind are amazing and his research on shamanism is very interesting as he looks at it from a scientific view point right?

Oh yes, Jung is good - I like his theories on the shadow-self, but the fact that you are just to accept what you are can be a bit of a hassle. To, for instance view murderers as simply "natural states of self"... at least society can't, but should it be untreatable?
I also think fisk should be unbanned.

Jung does have his detractors of course. But he's far better than others in the field. Froid, Reikians (sp?) etc
Still, Im probably not as well versed on this subject as you dom

Freud do get a lot of bashing from the science-community, for good reason. It's almost impossible to fathom that Jung was an apprentice of his, but when you do realize it and go into the depths of Psychoanalysis you start to understand that Freud wasn't all dumb. Freud did some work together with another scientist who started to detest working with Freud (unfortunately I cannot remember his name off the top of my head), but many of the conclusions drawn through empirical studies are sound.
Freud used methods that today would be seen as despicable (such as using cocaine in 30-year old women as part of a study/treatment of his invented condition 'hysteresis'). For that single reason MANY feminists hate Freud. I mean sheer utter despise him.
There's a lot more to Freud than the commonly known "smoking of the cigar", "lie on the divan and tell me of your dreams"-mumblings, but viewed from a distance you have to take a lot of what he claims with a sack of salt. For instance, some of his interpretations have been due to his inability in language, where he jumbled up meanings creating completely different translations and using those for analysis.
I like Carl Rogers' theory of motivation, I'm not all that well-read in psychology (especially not clinical psychology) but Rogers always managed to catch my eye.
I also think fisk should be unbanned.
