Felon - 10/10

See this movie. Instantly into my top movies of all time. I couldn't help but cry with Porter everytime he did.

Acting was sublime from all characters.. even the annoying guy from Lost gave a superb performance. Story was one of the best, simple but effective. Some truly great film making.

movies i saw today :
Speak (2002) - 7/10 , good low buget flick but i'm getting tired of these kinda movies aka low buget us movies that deal the teenagers somehow , be it highschool killings , ass rape and crap like that
Felon (2008) - 7/10 , finally a good movie with Stephen Dorff , btw a XIII tv series ? wtf is that all about ..
The Weather Man 8/10 , great cinematography , one of Cage's better roles , i really like to see a movie like this when i'm bored , doesnt really help but it gets me in the mood to actually see all of it .

movies i saw sometime the past week
Fast Times At Ridgemont High 8/10 ... "Hey, wait a minute, there's no birthday party for me here!" , like Spicoli is the ultimate stoner , saw Nick Cage in the background a couple of times , he's almost 'not him' with all that natural hair
Harold and Kumar 2 7/10 , nice gangs and shit , but i kinda tend to consider the 1st one to be better , and btw the trailer showed the marshalls in the airplane and pistolwhipping some woman in trailer , wonder how many scenes like that were cut..

PS
like Before the Devil Knows bla bla .. but the sex scene at the beggining was COMPLETELY USELESS , and maybe it needid a little bit more closure

Felon: Watched it 2 times already. What a movie.

The Happening: Good movie. Bad end =P ..

Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay: Simply amazing if u are a smoker yourself.

Starship Troopers 3 Marauder: It was oke. Older movies where better.

In Bruges: What a peacefull movie. I liked it allot.

The Wackness - 9/10 - been waiting for this one and was not disappointed. made me laugh, made me cry and i loved it...

Squires: What are you in for?
Man: I stabbed my wife in the pussy.

Felon - 8/10 - heard nothing about this, watched it and thought it was wicked... kilmer was weak but dorff held it all together.

You just did, so you're lying! How can we ever trust you again?!?!

That being said, I haven't watched but I will. Extremely powerful cast. Even in the small roles. :)

Felon - 6/10

Started out very promisingly as a gritty look at the penal system but went all hollywood after that. Was expecting some kind of statement on how once a person is in the 'correctional' system things almost always go wrong. And looking at the state of the prisons in the US it seems to be borne out by the facts. Instead we get a Shawshank Redemption meets Rocky. Sad Only the solid performances by dorf and kilmer prevent this movie from being a total waste of time.

Doomsday Unrated - 6/10

This version is little bit better than the regular one, more gore more fun. Now it is even closer to the Dog Soldiers. But Dog Soldiers still has much more mockery Very Happy

Monster Ball 8/10 , great movie , love the eerie and dark tone of the film , good perfomances overall , i would have like to see more of Ledger and the fat kid though , they were like interesting characters . but like many reviewers pointed out .. it's a though pill to swallow with Halle Berry being a lonely sad little creature , but thenagain Billy Bob was banging Angelina at the time

It's not nearly as bad as Cloverfield, not by a mile.

Sorry to hear you felt that way. Though, by the second part of the statement, it seems you and I have VERY different opinions of what is interesting. What movies would you consider interesting?

And what parts would you consider dragging on? I don't think a single character segment was any longer than 20 minutes.... I don't like defending movies, and usually don't, I'm more just curious what you specifically thought dragged on (an example or two would be great)

I have to agree with Bitching about "Before the devil knows you're dead". The actors were very good but this movie could've been a lot shorter. I liked the concept but it was way too slow.

I watched Before the Devil Knows You're Dead the other night, the story kept me glued to the TV the entire time ... doubt it could have been or needed to be shorter. But only 8/10 for me Smile

The subs I used were in my native language portuguese, and since I don't know any dutch I'm not sure if they could've been better.. but I think they were good enough to understand what was going on.
