|
 |
I got Half-Life_2_READ_NFO-EMPORiO, and the ape's fix for it. The game starts up fine.
But when I start a new game, and the loading bar reaches the right side, a blue screen flashes on the screen for about half a second, the my computer reboots automatically.
What causes this annoying problem? Any help is greatly appreciated.
My comp specs:
AMD Athlon 1,4 GHz
512 MB of RAM
GF4Ti4200
OS: Windows XP Professional
Thanks in advance!

That is windows getting a BSOD.
If you go to control Panel -> System -> Advanced tab -> Startup and recovery you will find a checkbox saying "Automatically restart".
If you uncheck that box and apply the settings the computer will not restart when it crashes like that and you will have the time to read the crash info.
That might help you to find the solution to the problem.
You could also try to upgrade your drivers.

Windows got an inbuilt firewall as standard. Don't remember if It's enabled as standard or not though but you should check it. It should be under the control panel. Don't know if you're able to patch on Steam with the pirate version but we who have the bought version can use a new patch that corrects many crash problems with the game.
