I realize for some this is a classic, but apart from the fact that cars actually get damaged, i don't really see anything special about this game.

Hell, the career mode is so dry, it hurts. The least they could have done is add permanent damage to my cars, so that all the ramming and stuff would have some consequences.

To be honest, Carmageddon, the original one would own this game in almost every aspect, expect maybe for graphics.

Well after I got time to play this more than 10 minutes, I changed my opinion on game looks. I don't think it looks better than FlatOut 2 anymore. This game uses way too many gray and gritty colors. Many of the previous tracks now look gray, dull and boring. After playing it for an hour I started to miss FlatOut2's vivid and lively looking tracks. Explosions, water splashes and water itself, grass all these look weird. And I think music is different too, no? I missed some of the old great songs, maybe I just didn't play long enough to hear them. Gonna install FlatOut 2 Mad

You could always add your own custom music, need to be .ogg files though.

I don't mind the game, still as fun as the others Smile

I don't know what's more annoying though, the hideous music or the atrocious car sounds... Laughing

the only ones who can get engine sounds right is ea in nfs series, altho Paradise had pretty decent sound too

tdu, grid all have crappy and unrealistic engine sounds

I don't care, at least they sound alright, not like this pos, it sounds like everything (aside from the music) was mixed at 22500 Hz. Bla.

It should be, because it requires a legit serial for anything more than a quick race.

For people who can't create an account whitout a serial (everyone), just create a profile while offline, disconnect the internet from your profile, you will not be able to play online, but you can save the game.

huh, i was able to run the game just fine... without doing nothing but use the reloaded crack. But i haven't played more than 2-3 times... i don't know what are the differences between that and the second part... the tracks are the same... and somehow i'm not much into it..

You obviously have no idea what you're talking about. I loved Flatout 2. The dev's as well as numerous publications stated a while ago that Ultimate Carnage is just a visually over-hauled FO2 for the consoles. Now that it hit PC do you expect anything else?

Take it for what it is, Flatout 2 with a shiny coat. I don't understand the massive expectations. This isn't Flatout 3.

Medium settings in FlatOut UC look uglier than FlatOut 2, driving is different as in much less enjoyable, it has got G4WL shit, derby online is awful, and overall it feels like most of the fun from the previous game is gone. So no, it's not "FlatOut2 with a shiny coat"

I meant this game is less optimized than the previous one. FlatOut 2 runs smooth on highest settings on my computer, I don't even get that on lowest settings in FlatOut UC. It's playable on medium settings though, where it still look uglier than FlatOut2...
