Went to see it last night. It was a good film, though i dont think it was much more than that. It didnt live up to they hype, although rarely anything does. Heath's role was good, nothing spectacular, not oscar worthy.
Also, how come 2face became 2face by burning, everyone knows it happened with acid in the court room...

A lot of the story was changed - in fact, you're wrong in saying everyone knows. There are a lot of spinoffs of batman that explain it in different ways.
Kind of the nature of media arts, telling your own story.

Also knowing that would imply you read the comic-books. Which perhabs 1 out of 5.000 who has seen this movie did.

I definitely enjoyed it, but I was expecting more. It just seemed like the same sequence of events was repeated throughout, with The Joker making some terrorist threat and Batman + bumbling cops attempting to avert it. It was getting tedious by the end.
The fact that Batman repeatedly let The Joker escape just compounded this perception. Just drive into him and break his goddamn legs!
7.5/10 from me, for reference I would give Batman Begins 9/10.

One thing that has allways made me laugh with the harvey dent story is that in the 1989 batman version he was black lol and in the next 2 appereances in batman films hes white ( tommy lee jones Batman Forever 1995 & Aaron Eckhart Dark Knight 2008 )

Dent always was white, it was Burton's movie who took liberties in that regard.

ya...the riddler could have SUCH an amazing story line in these new batman movies. If they made joker to be as psychotic as they did, imagine what they could do with the riddler.

The Riddler is too psychotic, I think over the top for the Nolan universe.

Batman sure has a big list of villains http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batman_villains but imo just like Penguin or Mr. Freeze, most of them seem too over-the-top to fit in to this more realistic take that Nolan's movie have made. But then again, they changed some things with Ra's al Ghul and it turned out great, so whatever they come up with for the third part, I'm confident the result will be once again amazing.

R'as al Ghul is immortal in the comics, so they could play on that. Plus, everyone talks about Catwoman, but I think the character of Talia al Ghul (guess whose daughter) is much more interesting as a love interest.

I'd agree in terms of the interesting as a love interest, but just IMAGINE how insane Catwoman could be. PLUS a hottie in cat leather, mmmmmmm, who can act (because we already know nolan isn't afraid to cut someone out if they suck, see holmes)
Plus the story of talia kind of is like moot isn't it, the way nolan did it. She was supposed to recruit batman to the league of assassins or whatever... not sure how that story would play out now.
I dunno, I don't think the Ghul characters are mainstream enough to make movie execs fly. I could see how they sold the first batman as the "beginning stories" was very in at the time, and the second was of course, a redux almost of the first batman. It is a nearly 200 million dollar budget flick, they are going to want the popular villains to be used. Riddler, Catwoman, Clayface, or hell, even Bane would make a great new villain. With him becoming like an anti-hero in some later batman comics, they could do a cool spinoff with that.
My personal FAVOURITE of course from the batman universe is Deadshot... When I saw him in Gotham Knight i was pretty fuckin' happy.

Why not TC? It has the potential of looking as good as a DVD-rip, if done on a proper machine (i.e. the LotR:RotK was flawless).

Back then there were no HD rips... But yeah, when something comes early, I really have no expectations and can watch even a moderate TC. But when I have an option to watch it in HD, I don't see why not.

Don't know how much truth there is in this but...
Quote: | Rumors Begin: Johnny Depp - Philip Seymour Hoffman - Angelina Jolie |
Quote: | First Rumor - A source told the Telegraph: "Producers are convinced that the role of The Riddler is perfect for [Johnny] Depp. Johnny’s a pro. He’ll be able to take direction and still make the character his own." |
Quote: | Second Rumor - Telegraph: "What better Penguin is there than Philip Seymour Hoffman?" |
Quote: | Third Rumor - Geeksofdoom.com: Julie Newmar (Catwoman- 1960s Batman TV show) says she heard that Angelina Jolie, "made inquiries about the role [of Catwoman]." She also gave her endorsement saying she thinks Jolie would be great for the part. This one is a far stretch and most of the Blogsphere agrees it is probably very far from the truth. |

Angelina Jolie, [was] pretty, but as an actress, . But it's all rumors. Nolan has stated he won't ever do a Penguin, because the character is too over-the-top.

For me the film was good, but goddamn long... In cinema we had 15 min break... I think that Depp would be good Riddler, he is kinda twisted, and does great impression of weird characters

15 min break for a 2,5 hour long movie? Why? Are your seats that bad?

ok , i gotta say this , even though Nolan's best work must be TDK , but as a director i think that The Prestige or Insomnia are very very good , his best for yet.
