My personal favourite series of all time is The Warlord Chronicles. It's a realistic type story of Arthur etc. Just great storytelling.
Also, read a Brief history of time by steven hawking. It's a must imo for everyone, I always recommend it.
Sorry I don't have thriller/mystery suggests broski, just not a personal fav. genre of mine.

If you're into graphic novels then I strongly recommend Watchmen. Bought it yesterday and couldnt stop reading. Its a superhero themed murder mystery/thriller/end of the world story.
Zack Snyder is working on a movie based on it aswell.

Best story I've read in a while, and I read A LOT of books... highly (highest?) recommended.

there was this little philosophy book that debunked the existence of everything. it was a paper back and it just blows your mind whenever you read it. I don't know the name, but you lot are a literary type so you must know. It's supposidley funny and such. it's very short from what i heard but very potent in info.

My english prof was preaching it. saying that if you're ever interested in philosophy that's the book to read. It'll change your view on everything.
It was a little book. i wish I weren't such a heavy drinker. Then I'd prolly remember the title. But I can't.

I'm trying. My prof said that thee was segment there that debunked the existence of a chair in front of you. I should see him this coming semester. I'll ask him if we don't find out. Haha.

Micheal Frayn - Spies
Brilliant book.
Most who have read it either love or loathe it; in fact most simply do not get it. I got it, it was on my level; his sense of humour and technique of storytelling makes Frayn one of my fave authors.
I found this book incredibly nostalgic; he describes childhood down to a T of what its really like in the world when you are just a little boy. Girls, bosoms, german pilots and cheating housewives diaries through the eyes of a child.. great story.
I found it also incredibly sad. Some of the things in the book describe human nature so well that it saddens the heart to read some of the lies that children are told by parents.
But the best thing about this book is the ammount of symbolism. Its thick as a block with so many gems of hidden meanings and has a near perfect open-ending. I wont spoil it however.. just grab it.
