No. PEople hate this movie because it's not indie jones. It just has the indie name. The indie actors. But it's sooo far from indiana jones
Indie had a level of realism. It was great fun to watch. But 4. 4 just felt boring. Action was great. Stuff was great. But it just wasn't indie jones. It was a summer action movie

I really dislike how the setting went from supernatural (power of god, magic, immortality) to science-fiction (aliens). This doesn't feel like Indiana Jones anymore. Especially the fridge was too much.

actually that transition is kind of like a reflection of the period it was in
the cheap adventure flicks of the time of the war and earlier, which indy is a direct derivative of, were mostly about mummies and such - and after the war, ufos and such became a common topic of pulp cinema - with nuclear weapons and irradiated mutant beings and stuff
the fridge though...
the cg of the city blowing up looked convincing enough that they must have studied tons of released test footage
from which they would, wether they wanted or not, seen that the fridge would have at most been thrown across the room
especially if it's "lead shielded"!?

Nothing bothered you before the fridge? Like, the fact that AREA 51 had about 2 fucking guards on the whole premises?

nope because at least it was realistic, ie; a warehouse, and it had guards. pretty simple.
not surviving a nuclear blast by climbing into a fridge for it to be blown out of the house and many miles away by a nuclear bomb, crashing and tumbling at incredible break neck speed for indy to just pop out of it at the end
