You could play SA on the net and other ones to. GTA never came with a serial number. R* doesn't give a fuck about piracy. People will buy their products and download them. They aren't losing money and they won't be losing money. So meh. I'll download this and play it like i did SA and VC and 3 and that's for 40 minutes with cheats and then uninstall. If something grabs my attention then maybe I'll play more, but from all other GTA's they were all boring to me. Not much to do once you finish the story. There's only so many ways you can cause chaos and havoc.

Too bad the radio stations suck. But since you can still play your mp3 files, nothing beats just driving around listening to songs.

yeah, but SA was only playable online because it was pretty much a mod. GTAIV's online is fully made by R*. so im probably willing to bet anything theyre gonna be using a serial on this one.. plus i heard somewhere that the game will ALSO have GfWL? i hope not.. but oh well if it does.

I'm 99% sure it will be using one of those fancy Securom activation protections, let alone a serial. But if it's a G4WL title... Well...

they won't add a serial number. They'd be stupid to do so. If they do then the game will be leeched more than bought because only desperate people will buy it then. Not a lot of people will waste money just to play the game online. And there are already tons of those who have bought it for a console. So buying it again just to play online would put R* on a shit list. Either way I'll be leeching this one until I see something that will make it worth the money. MGS4 for pc I'd buy deffo. not any of the GTA series.

don't use protections Like AITD.
AITD IS a a G4W title.
and bioshock was too,
and it's the same publisher company{Take 2}
so expect protection Like AITD,or even more tougher.

Waldo, if the game is G4WL, and judging by the logo on the site it is, it will have a serial protection. That's how the MS system works, whether you like it or not. And what, because people bought it on console, they should be entitled to get this for free?

Wow NPiracy, you're dumb as hell. It's going to have a serial and maybe some basic protection, every GamesForWindowsLIVE (KEY WORD LIVE, AND GTA4 IS LIVE) game has one. Rockstar wouldn't be too happy if it had online activation.

Alright, my take on this: When GTAIV was announced for PC I wanted to pre-order and buy it, so I could
1. Play it soon
2. Support the developers.
But then I read about 9 MILLION copies of the console versions have been sold and realised R* already have money; to create a new GTA or add DLC for instance. And the game will be scene released anyway, probably even a few days before the official release so that overrides my first reason.
So yeah. I'll be downloading this.

If it is available for download before it is released in stores then I will download it. But this is a game I will probably buy if the store release is first or when the store release drops in price a few months after the initial release.

One can only hope for serious copy protection to delay these freeloaders for awhile forcing some of them to buy the game because they can't wait for a crack no longer.

dude third world countries can't get it legally anyway! piracy is there only way to get software so one can't blame them
oh yeah they must pay 7k$ for a plane ticket to the nearest gamestop so the developers get money from someone who lives somewhere they didn't invest in ? wether he pirates or not it makes absolutely 0 difference
it's big countries pirates that you've got to worry about
but if you're so anti piracy just what the hell are you doing in a piracy forum this is the big question we must ask to copyrights whiners
