Yeah, used to be doing both, first nails, then the skin... I now use plastic toothpicks (at home) and gum (outside) to keep my mouth busy, but still instinctively reach my fingers to my mouth from time to time.  |

I used to bite the skin when i was younger but never the nails. I just couldn't get into it. I've since quit biting my fingers in anyway. The sides of your fingers look gross when you bite them.

Chewing gum works well for me, but these days when I'm @ home I just don't bite them, got out of biting thankfully...

I never thought of that. It is true I guess but they pay for that in the end too.
Here the best places are run by older asian/Koreans so I have heard. Average looking woman.

Here, all nail parlours are run by far eastern owners, it's because my country is shit at keeping tabs on illegal immigrants.

I used to chip away at the skin around my nails and when it had recovered a little I would pick at the scab and start all over again. Very unsightly and unhealthy although I haven't done it in a long time. But blaming it on stress is a bit too easy. I don't see it as a coping mechanism but more a symptom of something deeper which manifests itself during stress. And those 'solutions' only address the symptoms and not the cause itself.

aye, smoking is a personal choice. everyone knows its unhealthy but some like to smoke, like me.
I wish people would leave smokers alone. Like, do non smokers actually think smokers dont know its bad for their health? |

actually for out healths, syco and i, smoking is good. It helps us deal with stress. Right? Am I right? I smoke pack to two a day cause of my shitty job. Helps me calm down and relax rather than bashing some faggots face in because he believes he knows my job better than me. Lawl.
Smoking is good for you. Helps you deal with a lot of things. Helps you relax. Helps you lose weight. Only bad thing about smoking is the people who say it's bad. All the deaths linked to smoking are linked to smoking because at one point in their life the person smoked. There's very little concrete evidence that smoking is super bad for you.
As an example, some people who smoked for 80 years lived to be 101 or 102 . Also some people who smoked for 5 years died from lung cancer. Cancer... everybody has cancer. If your parents died from it, chances are you'll die from it too. Whether or not you smoke. So do yourself a favor, start smoking so that when you die, they'll link your death to cigarettes.

oh shut up. I love smoking! Stop giving me reasons to hate it! I know it's bad. It tars up your lungs. Makes it hard to breathe but fuck it. It's sooo relaxing! I'd rather live in my own little world where there's very little wrong with smoking and be happy rather than be like my friends who complain about second hand smoke. Life's for living. Fuck. But as it is right now everybody is paying for the unhealthy and potential life threatening habit of a few with their health insurance premiums. I don't see why I should pay for someones treatment who willingly risks his health, smokers should cover all smoking related costs by themselves. Nobody forced it on them so why should the general public burden the costs for them.

You can't. You'll always find something. But everything is part of life. Either way you're all going to die. Today, tomorrow, thirty years from now, why not live a little? I'd rather die knowing what it feels like to live a life than to die old and know what it feels like to waste my life. That's just my opinion.

It's not such a big part. But it's a part. So are other things. Smoking helps me calm down and rationalize everything that's currently going on. At work I take smoke breaks to re-think the designs and see if they work. At home I go out and smoke and think. I smoke socially when I'm with friends too. It's just plays a little part in my life. And if people say it's unhealthy then yeah I'll tell them to fuck off.
