What's the point of you guys arguing over this shit? I used to be like that, but I just don't see the point anymore. Monkeys will stay monkeys, they will hate something without even testing it (or testing it on retarded setup).

agreed. it's just no use :p
everyone should just use what he's happy with. there is no reason to try to convince anyone that some other OS sucks or is great.

Ah, but my point is to TRY and help-stroke-educate people. Assholes will just argue and spend their lives wearing blinkers, but the genuine few will actually listen and try again. All I'm trying to do is help people -- if they want it.
Most the "tests" of Vista come from 12-18months ago, back when it was just released. Like any OS, it takes time to mature. I'll be the first to admit there were massive issues at first .. but now, thanks to MS's many many compat updates (and even ingenuity of Creative and their ALchemy suite) Vista is, IMO, #1 for gaming. XP is old and finished

Yeah, I was like that as well. You wouldn't believe how many times I tried to explain that high memory usage (as seen in sidebar/task manager) is mainly because of SuperFetch, which makes programs load ten times faster (in my case, Visual Studio, Photoshop, Paint.NET, Office 2007 (mainly outlook) and so on). Do they get it? No, they still base retarded assumptions on 2006 benchmarks with old hardware and bad drivers.
So yeah, don't preach to retards anymore.

Sure, the 8600 is much better for HTPCs (because of HDMI output support and hardware h264/vc1 acceleration).

Yes, I agree the card is crap. However, do take into account that I am perfectly capable playing latest games on medium settings on XP. Usually on Vista too but not always and that's irritating. Even considering my card is old, one OS is perfectly fine with it, the other isn't. Now, you can argue that Vista is built for newer hardware, but the fact is most people have setups like mine. And that's the reason people are not comfortable with Vista for gaming. Except that nuance, Vista is very nice. Too bad I like gaming. Again, will try again soon with newer video card.
The only monkey here is LeoNatan that is so full of himself it's scary. Get a grip.

Dude, my previous card before the 8800GT I had ... was a 7900GTO. That's a modified GTX with slightly slower memory speeds -- and that gamed on Vista PERFECTLY!
I have no reason to lie to you, bud :-\

sabin as much as I would want to agree with You I can not. The only thing in which vista excels at gaming performance compared to xp when dual core cards are used. Obviously Your XP was complete unoptimized shit with no proper drivers installed, as there is no way Vista can perform better at games.
My post may be a little aggresive, but what You are saying had no coverage so far in any test onducted by human being.

Of course, my XP was shit and I had bad hardware with crappy drivers and software. I'm so completely wrong. Honest.
Can I please have the pleasure of fellating you now, since you're so obviously a higher class of being than I am?
.... before you get your hopes up; I was being sarcastic. Believe whatever you wish to believe, I'll just keep gaming on my superior OS while you - and others like you - cling to the sad, deluded, belief that an OS that is almost 9 years old can actually compete.
Oh and what are these "dual-core cards" you so tenderly speak of? I know of no such device. Dual-Core CPUs, maybe. Dual-Chip GPUs too .. but dual-core cards? Weird. I want one of those magical and mystical devices.
Enjoy your XP. I'll enjoy my Vista. End discussion.

sabin sad to prove You wrong but as i have obviously stated on first page I am using Vista and consider it superior OS.

You are realy trying to be an asshole now, as You perfectly know what I meant.

It can as it's superior platform in terms of gaming for now. My system is not bad, yet I resort to using 2nd boot XP for gaming.
And just fyi, I'm just 18 and my english is below average as it's not my native language, so I obviously may often have problems with expressing what I mean.
Ps. You have problems with accepting others opinions, work on it please.
Respect and have a good day sir.

And you are being an asshole to me, specifically by calling me a liar over my experiences with Vista and gaming --- secondly, you're the one that has "problems accepting others opinions" I state Vista games better for me than XP did. A few others stated the same. You called me a liar.
Now who's the asshole?

Yeah, the Mojave-experiment made by Microsoft to do PR for a Microsoft-product is very reliable stuff. xD
If they bothered with fixing so X-Fi works with eg. EAX, and made the Adobe product-line run as well as it does in XP I'd switch to VISTA. Clearly it's not an OS-problem, clearly it is a software companies being lazy-problem, but it affects me all the same.
Also, I basically play one single game these days, EVE-Online, and for whatever reason it runs slow as fuck on VISTA (like 30fps less, and completely unusable running multiple clients).
I also think fisk should be unbanned.

What do you mean Adobe products don't run on Vista? Reader, Acrobat and Photoshop run much better in Vista than in XP?

So now they're lying too? Interesting what lengths people will go to in order to ignore the truth.

Hang on a minute, why should Microsoft fix a Creative product? Don't blame the OS, blame the manufacturer of your hardware. However, because I'm a decent person, I'll help you.
ALchemy. It converts EAX calls to OpenAL, a format compatible with Windows Vista -- and don't say it doesn't work because it bloody well does. I use ALchemy Universal on my Realtek card and it works flawlessly

Multiple clients? So, let me get this straight, you run MULTIPLE copies of THE most system-demanding MMORPG (next to AoC) and whine that you don't get more than 30fps -- and that it's VISTA's fault!?!
Yeah, that's logical honest.

It's called PR. Every company in the world does it to market their products. Or wait, if it says "100% faster!" on the box, you actually think it means exactly that?

Works fine, but it's not EAX (which was what I was after). While you're at it, have you been able to run ASIO2 with X-Fi in VISTA?

Dude, I run three clients in XP and get 60fps on each, and that's on 1680x1050 in premium.
