XBOX360 HDD Hack:
Die in den USA heimischen Jungs, von BlueB, arbeiten fleißig daran, die angekündigte Festplatteninstallation vor MS in den Release zu schicken.
Dies wird mit Hilfe einer zu 99% nachgebauten Leak-Konsole realisiert, welche aus nachempfundenen Konsolenkomponenten besteht, die der 360 angeblich, auf das Haar gleichen sollen.
Als System dient ein OS, welches auf der Ping 17 Struktur basiert.
Viel interessanter ist aber die Tatsache, das als "kleines Nebenprojekt" ein funktionierender Ps3 Emulator zur Debatte stand, deren Funktionialität, aufgrund eines neuen Ping 17 Hacks realisiert wurde.
Zurzeit laufen die Releasetitel Motor Storm und F1, in der Demo Version via DVD auch auf der 360.
Doch zu aller Verwunderung mit einer 9% höheren Framerate als auf der hauseigenen Konsole.
Ob dieser Umstand bloßer Zufall oder aufgrund der schnelleren Datenübertragung der DVD, ein technischer Vorteil ist, werden weitere Tests erbringen.
Wir bleiben natürlich dran und werden euch über neuste Ergebnisse schnellst möglich informieren.
Sollte jemals ein funktionierender Ps3-Emulator, für die 360 erscheinen wäre dies ein tiefer, jedoch auch illegaler Schlag, welcher Sony schlimmer denn je, in den Exklusivitätsmangel reißen würde.
Up to Date gibt es aber nur eine Hand voll Ps3 Spiele, die auf eine DVD DL passen würden und somit die geplante Festplatteninstallation, als Mittel zum Zweck, erwartet wird.
Ausstehendes Problem wäre zudem die Installation des Ping 17 OS auf eine Org. Xbox 360, die aufgrund MSs Sicherheitsmaßnahmen noch völlig in den Sternen steht und BlueB vor neue Aufgaben stellt.
Wir warten gespannt auf neue Informationen von Übersee und hoffen auf einen sicheren Release von MGS4 und Co.

Well its not like you can switch back and forth, the old one will appear when you press the xbox guide button and from there you can navigate like the old one.
It has finally been done but NOTE, only modded systems at this point are able to do the install. The process is quite easy if you cannot figure it out but will not be released at this time. A fellow member here by the name of xg4m3r has discovered a path for modded consoles to install the update as you can see in the video above. Like I said in update 8 we are still working on this process to see if we can manage anything on retail consoles. We are not releasing anything at this time but more news is to come soon. Evrrything has been taken down ,however here is something that might be interesting to some people:
A brief clip showing howto copy you game from disc to the 360 hard drive using the new fall 08 dashboard..a small taste of what's to come..take a quik look if you have the time before it might get taken down..
with that HD install thingy Microshit might implent a protection like starforce, can't be cloned on DVD
if it is that sort of protection you can say goodbye to free games for the x360.
because we know the only way to detect a hacked 360 is via the media, and maybe the disc responses etc are to hit and miss to get an accurate reading to inforce a ban without banning a legit person, as some drives perform better than others , and with general wear of the laser etc

How many dickheads will they ban before knowlegde is spread ? a lot! and even without HD install its possible to implent a protection like SF even on xbox 360 without harddisk that small driver can be stored somewhere else in xbox 360...its possible. Great now Im not so excited about this update anymore. Think I might keep my xbox disconnected from Live for a few weeks after this releases. I don't wanna update lol

It's September but still waiting.. Or does this dash update come exactly on the first day of Fall (Sept 22)?
Can't play GTA4 anymore. If theres just one slight scratch on the disc, it gives unreadable disc error after a few minutes of playing. I NEED this HDD Install feature now!!!!!!!!!!
