Crysis Warhead: No more special DirectX 10 effects

As we interviewed Bernd Diemer, the producer of Crysis Warhead, he confirmed that the "very High” settings are renamed to "Enthusiast” and will be available for DirectX 9, too.

Bernd Diemer: The former "very high2 settings are now called "enthusiast” and this option is now available for DX9, too. We removed this exclusiveness and thought: If people want to run this on their system, why should we restrict it?

PCGH: So there are no visual differences between the DX9 and DX10 version anymore?

Bernd Diemer: If the system can display it, because it has the performance, this is right.

Haha. Now let's see them try to make the game scale well on that.

Then when they've fixed their unoptimized code they should look to making the game, you know, fun.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! Oh my giddy aunt .. if people honestly fall for that like they fell for it with the first Crysis .. then it will simply confirm what I've felt, in my heart, for years; Humanity is doomed.

I hope you're not serious about that comment.

CoD4 was infinitessimally more fun than Crysis! On EVERY conceivable level!

Beachhead 2000 was more fun than COD4. Though COD4 has better graphics.

We'll just have to agree to disagree then, because I believe CoD4 was the epitome of an FPS shooter. Magnificent in every regard except longevity .. at least in the SP campaign, as the MP is godlike and I'm still playing it now, a year after release.

For those of you who are looking for more info about Crysis Wars®, here are some of the features that weren't discussed in the press-release. We'll have more news on Crysis Wars® as well as special updates directly from the team as we get closer to September 18th:

• TeamInstantAction is a new team-based mode pitting Raptor Squad forces agains KPA forces, all clad with Nanosuits. It features a intelligent Spawn System which ensures you will always spawn the furthest away from any enemy and closest to your teammates. Its also a very easy mode to jump in and out of. TIA is really for fast and intense multiplayer fun.

• Many of the new maps have been specifically tailored to create vertical gameplay, meaning you can use every ounce of your Nanosuit's powers to dominate your opponents. Stake out a high ledge to jump out of the line of bullets or use your cloak to sneak past the enemy on the prowl. Every map in Crysis Wars has been carefully crafted to create a fun and unique multiplayer experience

• 21 maps including 7 never-before-seen maps. All the original Crysis InstantAction maps have been improved and re-worked.

• New and improved HUD elements make for an informative and enjoyable experience. Get your kill count up on your opponent to rub in how many times you owned him. Lots of polish has gone into this aspect of the game.

Non-linearity doesnt always equal great gameplay. COD4 delivers a cinematic experience which has great action and an awesome multiplayer. Crysis on the other hand featured both bad multiplayer and a tame SP experience. Still of course we are talking about taste here and that differs ofc.

Yeah like you would know. You havent even played Crysis till at least the half of the game so stfu. Cod4 is a stupid spawner shooter where you shoot shit on rails, then see a cutscene, then shoot another army of spawning shit in an area and this goes on forever. Boring trigger crap.
