If I were to guess I'd say that this affects the existing PC version and that they might use a detection utility to identify various components in the system and if it detects a CPU used in portable computer (Notebook/Laptop and whatever else it's called.) such as the Centrino then the game will enable these features.

Its nice they do some cool things for a laptop but when it is their main focus and don't give the PC user some features as well then there is a problem.

There's nothing, except perhaps Ad-Hoc support, that the laptop versions have .. that the PC version doesn't. Nothing worth having anyway. Battery level and WiFi signal support? It's useless to us :-\

I thought the console version(s) where the main focus?
(This might have changed but no matter what the devs say I'm sure the game is more streamlined and optimized and accessible than the previous Sacred title, might be good as long as it's not "dumbed down" as some people put it.)

Here some one make an effort so that even not books can play the game good. There is a pc and notebook version, so don't say it is useless, it's use full for those with notebooks.

Once again you are full of shit, here some one make an effort so that even not books can play the game good. There is a pc and notebook version, so don't say it is useless, it's use full for those with notebooks.

What the hell are you talking about!? I didn't say it was useless, you damned fool. I said the features in the latop version are useless for the PC version! Learn to fucking read.

1. Battery meter. What use would that be to desktop users?
2. WiFi meter. What use would that be to desktop users?
3. Ad-Hoc support. This *would* be useful for those using wireless modems.

I was referring to the desktop vs laptop versions! Jesus Christ, you really are a troll Rolling Eyes

"There is a pc and notebook version"

They are not the same. There will be no thing of those 3 things in the desktop version,

BOTH Laptop and Desktop versions are *identical* with the exception of the three things I just listed -- and I already SAID the PC version doesn't have them, and it didn't matter because they are useless to US! US being "those not on laptops"

I've reported you for being an arrogant troll who, once again, attacks me without provocation.

My initial post was in reply to Rampart, basically telling him that both versions are the same - the laptop version is getting features that are beneficial to laptop players - and that we, on desktops, DO NOT NEED THEM.

I'm not complaining! Read my post!

I was CLARIFIYNG for "Rampart" who assumed the notebook players were getting something different from us.

As for what doesn't make any sense, that would be you. Perhaps you need more English lessons? Rolling Eyes

I do wonder if they will actually do it like that, having one laptop optimized version of the game and one desktop version.

Makes more sense to me to merge both of them together into one version and have the laptop features auto-detect and enabled only when installed on laptops.
(Detected by CPU as those are the main difference.)

I think you're right. I doubt there will be two, completely seperate, versions of the game. There will be the one - and it autodetects whether or not it's being run on a laptop.

Im hoping for a upgraded version of Sacred , removing all the downsides and adding good stuff to it , will i get it ? hmm dont know.
I loved the first Sacred, the best Hack & slash after the Diablo series, it was really fun in co-op.

Lookin forward to this one, but theres a few things that scare me.

-Its coming to Xbox, never a good sign.
-They have gone a bit over the top with the "mounts", You can ride dragons ! i mean wtf ?!
-The new 3d engine looks a bit generic " standard european RPG game engine" you know.

sacred was interesting story wise, but gameplay wise it had severe flaws. Especially the skills , i mean come on, runes ? "oh kewl, i found another rune, now my "insert skill here" is 1 level higher, does more damage(or heal etc etc) but has lower cool down time ..."

wtf ?

hope they changed it to skill trees like in diablo 2 or TQ

Could be place holders.
May not be final.
Could just be shitty though. Wouldn't surprise me. Not like the first one had great voice over either.

Maybe it can be modded by someone to change the voices.

Graphically looks great though. looking forward to it.

Is it just me or does the game look distinctly crappier on consoles than on the PC?

Don't need any screens to figure that out.

As long as a demo shows up before release I'll probably buy it.

Hi there

About a Demoversion for everybody Heiko Tom Felde, CEO from Ascaron Germany says the following:

A Demoversion (PC) will be build out of the Master Releaseversion and will be available shortly before Release . This is an offical Information from Ascaron and acknowledged.

----------------

But: This is an Info for the german release on 2nd of October 2008. The international Release is a view days earlier, so i don't know if the int. community will get the demo Version after the int. release or if all peeps all over the world will get the demo some days before the intl. release.

Yours
Pyx

Sacred 2 may need SP3 for xp.

Quote:
Now, the bit I'm not sure how much I can talk about. I don't *think* that most people will need SP3 (I'm currently running a development version with SP2). There is certain functionality that will require SP3, and unfortunately that's the bit that I don't think is authorized for release yet, however it's not something that most players will be using. If anything comes up to change this I'll post back
