As the game's sprawling levels provide many opportunities, the most obvious choices are painted red, a device developer EA DICE refers to as Runner Vision.
However, a company representative was quick to point out that Runner Vision only provides a general guide to the objective, and not the most efficient path. It can also be entirely disabled, if desired.
Other tidbits revealed by the representative included the fact that EA DICE is performing many tests to help reduce simulation sickness in players. This led to an optional focal point at the center of the screen, which offers a stable point of reference
it really hurts to watch the gameplay...I mean...c'mon...what would the shoulder and arm joints say about this 10 feet - 20 feet drops and grabbing some kind of pipe or ledge to pull yourself over.
Not to mention the adrenaline and fatigue effects when cops chase you and you manage to pull off some crazy ass wire dancing stunt without falling down on the roofs of skyscrapers.

Speaking of Tomb Raider - this ugly butch Asian bitch has NOTHING on Lara Croft Just my two cents...

Oh I think she's cool. Of course, it's a totally different style. Mirror's Edge has a very realistic feel to it, but is also pretty cartoony.

But otherwise...pretty neat barcour game
I do not argue abut that the best barcourists can pull off these kind of stunts but not in one sequence like in the game Just one stunt at a time
The fatigue and stress to muscles and joints not to mention the shocks to your knees when jumping of those heights are too much for a human being. Like the stunt he performed at 2:50....3 jumps and then tried to grab the steel bar but couldn't hold on any more...etc
But anyway...the game could give some teen a false impression that barcour is just as easy until you've got the balls to do it
Despite the "popular" and now annoying reference to parkour, I highly doubt the game will be resumed, even in a small percentage of itself to this... modern form of body and mind training.
i have a bad feeling about this game , dunno really why , looks good and it has a good concept but ..
- seems like it'll be as linear as hell , basicly following a straight path with some obstacles in the way , kinda like Mario , only DX10
- parkour is like "hip" right now and these guys are cashing in on this jumping like a bunny rabbit buisness , i wanna see the character fall and break some fucking bones and hear some fucking agony , pain , see blood and shit , just like real life
- bet it'll be T certified , so no shooting but it's like ultrarealistic NOT to pick up a gun when some people are shooting at you and you have the chance to do something about it
only real game i'm lookin forward this year is Dead Space (kinda have my doubts about this1 aswell since it's an EA game) .. and Clear Sky but that's an add-on like thing

The more I watch these Mirror's Edge videos, the more I want a game like Crackdown done in a similar style: first person with full-body awareness. How frigging cool would it be to jump down from a tall building down to street level and wreak some havoc. Add in realistically modeled destructible environments so when you land the asphalt would smash under pressure. Ah, one can dream...

You can pick up guns and shoot back, only you will just have what's left in the magazine to shoot..when the gun is empty she'll throw the weapon away.
whats with the total BS jumps? It looks a great game but seriously no one can jump like that.. If shes supposed to be human and normal without any sci-fi type powers then they need to GTFO with the spiderman 50 foot jumps.
ok maybe im exagerating.. but no way can anyone jump those gaps in the last trailer.. they are like 10 metres or so.. And she barely runs fast enough to get 2-3 metres.

..check video with david belle or cyril rafaelli and u will se what normal humans can do
The German tech site Heise.de has a German interview with SCEE UK's David Reeves from two days ago at GC08 in Leipzig:
Quote:
The PS3 will be continuously supplied with exclusive games: “We are continuously, month after month publish new titles that bring something unique and different target groups. In a month, it is Gran Turismo, in the next SingStar, as well as Third-Party Title as mirrors Edge by Electronic Arts are part of this strategy. “ According to Reeves Mirrors Edge will initially exclusively for the PS3 this year. PC and Xbox 360 versions would follow much later.
Motherfuckers if PC version gets delayed to '09 because of this.
I FUCKING HATE CONSOLES SO MUCH NOW
if it's a month delay I can understand a year late fuck it
PS3 is so fucking desprate to compete with other consoles MGS4 aside ALL its exclusives suck and 98% of games are on 360 & PC too
"oh just give us one more year we'll unleash the true capabilities of our system"
most over priced piece of shit I've ever seen , beside of macs
By the way, the claim that it's a timed-exclusive for the PS3 has not been confirmed by any other source at this point, so take that with a grain of salt...
