Ok so I'm going to sell my Xbox360 and I'm just wondering about something.

My xbox360 is flashed and that means that the guaranty is voided, now lets say i sell it to a guy and i send it / he picks it up and everything is fine with it.
But like three months later the machine brakes.

Would I have any obligation to help him and care about him in any way, such as repaying him or anything?

Because that's what i'm afraid about, some gangbanger banging on my door wanting his money back or anything. The machine isn't broke but if it happens, you know...

So how does it work? As soon as he has paid and walked out of my apartment it's over, he is on his own?

Well yeah, i've said that it is flashed and such.

But yeah my initial question is that, when he's bought it, do i have any responsibility anymore?

imo it wouldn't be your problem. As long as you've stated it the 360 has been flashed and the buyer was happy on receipt of the product end of story.
If I was to sell something I usually state no returns, and usually mention the condition the product is in. You're a private seller not a commercial business. Smile

At least on german Ebay you are not allowed to sell modded/flashed consoles. I don't know if that is the case worldwide, but you might want to avoid the direct terms and only describe it...

why use ebay? There are enough second hand website which are a lot more flexible than ebay.

I guess there is no difficult market for a xbox360. You should be able to sell it in your own city. Put it on internet, discuss a price together, meet somewhere in town and sell it to him. There is not much that can go wrong. You meet and sell. No paypal shit, no 'not sending the goods', no 'broken goods sent' etc.

No problems later as there is no official evidence you sold something to him. He will be happy to get your xbox and you will be happy the box is gone together with your possible obligations.

ebay is just the fastest and largest market. You almost always sell your item. Ive only ever had 2-3 listings that didnt get a single bid ever.. its a huge market.

Agreed. Their fees may have risen quite a bit but shit sells fast. Its good for people who need to get the sale as fast as possible. Though I do miss the days of no listing fees... Allot more funny auctions were put on Ebay back then.

I am a noob when it comes to ebay and buying online.

My back bumper is rusted, I think it is a bad weld job because I see it on all my makes/model of my 4x4. It is huge parts price to do it at the dealership but online the parts are so much cheaper. like $ 60 to to one of the corner pieces. I need 2 side parts and the bumper. I am considering buying them online just to save money. I am still not sold it is the best thing to do tho. Sometimes you buy parts online and you end up with something that doesn't fit. They were off. A mistake would set me off huge.

You are under no obligation to give him support after the item has been sold as long as you sell it "as-is" and describe that the warranty is void. Do not mention the box has been flashed or it risks being taken off ebay. You only have to support it if you want to and state so in the auction

As long as you do this, you are in the right.

I think he may actually have to inform that the 360 was flashed. Otherwise the buyer could open a dispute up and list the dispute as item not as described (if it doesn't say its flashed one can only assume it is not) even saying the item is sold "as is" doesn't fly if the seller lies on the condition on the listing.

Also if it is against the ebay rules to sell a flashed 360 on ebay then hes really boned if the buyer does open a dispute and informs ebay of it being flashed when purchased. Going against ebay's polices could reverse the auction and if the transaction went through paypal the buyer can easily get his/her money back.

Nuke got me wondering. It is against the rules to sell a flashed xbox. Might have to find a different site that is not as popular as ebay.

It is against the rules, and you will have your auction removed, and a warning on your account for listing it.

I tried listing a modded original xbox and they took it down within a day, but they do refund your listing costs at least.

Razacka2 is in a damn bad position then because if that 360 doesn't please the buyer in anyway he could report it as such and get 100% of his money back and put Razacka2 most likely in debt to paypal and they will go after him with a collection agency and hurt his credit score if he doesn't pay it.

You really should have checked the rules before posting the 360.

Lol, guys I didn't post it on ebay, it was on a swedish site.

I got the money via bank transfer on internet then i packed the thingy and sent it to him via swedish post office.

I've recieved several mails where he says that he is happy with it but he just had some questions about burning cds and firmware so yeah, I think it's "done" now.
