Blizzard is about quality as a whole, but their WoW developpers ~ EA. I'm glad they have like 4 different developpers 'cause for sure RTS/Diablo dev aren't like that (see how much we waited for new games... After only ONE expansion of their predecessor).

These WoW developpers they recruited for BC & WOTLK (different than the original game) seem to come straight from EA/Eidos. What they are doing with WoW is nothing incredible if you ask me. The original WoW is a very good game, so putting out expansions for an already good game doesn't need any real geniuses. My point is WoW is what it is now because of them (i.e. boring). You like WoW for its original content, ambiance, etc. Not for its kiddy expansion.

Just my 2 cents...

But anyway since it's about the cinematics : it's good to know it's the SAME team that did the original WoW/BC/other blizzard games cinematics. Which is real quality.

hey i've played the beta, have you? good job making comments on stuff you have no idea about!

You can say what you want about them, spoon feeding kiddy content when they're not. WoW is becoming an E-Sport, there's several tourns setup already. They are doing their best to keep it's reputation high and pumping out quality content every few months. I don't think it's the best game out there or the best Blizzard game however it's something pretty different and it does everything better than any other mmo out there, guess what - I also have access to Warhammer (haven't tried it yet but i'll be sure to) and i'm confident that it's going to be another AOC.

Nah I didn't play WOTLK but I played BC Smile I'm speaking about BC, I doubt WOTLK changes the game so much you are discovering the original WoW once again. I'm sure it's an improvement over BC, that'll keep WoW players busy.

What I mean is these exp are for WoW players, and not new players. If you didn't catch WoW before, I doubt people will be like "omg I know him, it's Arthas, let's buy WoW! Maybe it's gonna be the best game ever now"... Which is my point.

Pretty much like the Sims series actually. When you are done with The Sims, you don't come back cuz they did some cool new expansion. I'd be surprised that people that were done (when done i mean, not having a break) would like the expansion so much to be addicted to it once again. Only those who were really keen on it and just stopped for a few months. That's all.

I'm a War3 addict and yeah i bought WoW because of War3. But not playing WoTLK (i didn't play much about BC either) doesn't prevent me from following the game from players point of view (which is a shame because people like me who are interested in the story can't discover it by itself. You need to be a hardcore gamer, which i'm not...( War3 story was easy to discover though).

Durrhhhh, I was playing EQ2 and my friends sat me down and had a nice flashback freakout on our TFT beta and ROC beta days. And then TFT tournaments... and then the lore, and well, we went and bought WoW for me that day.

Now you know someone!

I hope they don't try and make players encounter Sargeras though... at that point the universe is basically destroyed and my memories are all entirely ruined.

alll this fanboism is al oad of bollocks, started playing wow about 2 months back, have to admit its once of the most polished mmorpgs i have played (but then again it is 3+ years old), but i also cant wait for warhammer, you need some diversity.

i agree more or less every mmorpg is a grind, but its nice to have a change every now and then. I will probably play WAR, but after playing TR,AOC and vanguard im a bit wary with these new mmorpgs recently, if it is as bug ridden as AOC was i will no doubt be going back to WOW

gotta be careful though... chances are you'll die of old age before wow runs out of subscribers.

in a few years it'll just get another addon and a full graphics overhaul and it'll gain a lot of new players again and blizzard can probably keep going like that for a long time :P

I'm not going to bash WoW because I spent countless hours farming, doing instances, and raiding. What I was tired of was not enough challenging content for hardcore raiders because we only make up such a small percent of the population. Not much you can do there because even if we quit, they still have more than enough subs that are casual who can give a damn about M'uru and KJ. I'm not going to buy the xpac because Im burnt out, Ive seen Naxx and cleared it and I dont think WoTLK has much to offer the hardcore players. Now I'm not saying that I dont recommend the game, just saying that I've overstayed my welcome.

Thats what I was talking about earlier.. like, there's basically only 2 more powerful evils in the universe than Arthas - Queen Azshara and Sargeras... Both are untouchable by mortals, or should be.

Sargeras isn't "evil".

that aside, i will buy the expansion, will play a month, get level 80, try to get some nice items, and then sell my account for big bucks

i bought wow a month or 2 ago.. had a couple online friends playing also. got to lvl 62 and it just got so boring, everything was pretty much the same grind grind grindfest which i pretty much hate.. was fun for the first 10-15 lvls or so but then it got boring, i only kept playing cuz my friend said that it would get better at the endgame content... if the beginning/mid content isnt good then i wont last long enough to reach the endgame.. so i probably will not resub and get this expansion either.

From what I can tell, wow has the least grinding of any MMO out there.
If you can't get to level 70 in wow because it has too much grinding for your taste, then maybe MMOs just aren't for you.

Im thinkin of paying the monthly fee instead of playing on cracked servers. Still undecided, cause ppl there are nice folks. Its probably one of the best cracked wow servers there is. I have a lvl 41 warrior, lvl 56 priest, and lvl 60 pally on the real Blizzard servers. After putting the game down for 6 months I am back again. Although, like I said Im on the cracked server. This game is like crack if it doesnt get you now it will get you later. There is always some little bit of passion for it but once its back, you dont stop.

I do agree that this game gets boring, but its only if you make it that way. There a lot of things to do in the game. Thats why participation is key in raids, guilds, meeting ppl etc.

Anyway, this expansion will rock and succeed. I just hope I make the right decision if I come back to the legit servers cause I could be doing other things instead of killing time. lol

acefightr : the problem is if you don't want to make it boring is that -as you said- you need to participate in raid, guilds etc which is impossible for most of the people out there because we don't have the time to play it that much.

This is why I think it will still fail on this part of the game. If you can't involve most of your free time into this time, you will be stuck at lvl 80 doing nothing. This is why I stopped 1 month after I hit lvl 60, I had nothing to do in-game. So I never bought BC, and I guess will never buy the WOTLK.

Yes, private servers may have most instances working perfectly now

I've yet to see a private server that emulates the retail server 100%. Raid instances for example, all the bosses do is melee instead of their usual special attacks / different phases etc.

@ cyclonefr, I feel a bit like you, I never do raiding, I only PvP. But with WoTLK comes Lake Wintergrasp, I have high hopes for it. But on the other hand, it could be crap. Though most beta testers seem to agree that it's awesome. We'll see. Smile

Oh I just google Wintergrasp and it seems it's a good compromise between PvE and PvP. The only downside of this kind of thing is there is only one zone like this and I bet you'll be fed up about it after some months :/

But I guess it's better than nothing to have some items as a casual gamer. But the main issue about this game, I guess, is you don't have a "easy" mode for dungeons, even one that wouldn't drop anything so you could see, or even at least feel a "light-version" of what a raid can feel after falling down Illidan, cuz this is something I will never see !

Hell, I never saw Ragnaros falling down, I just quit WoW when my guild was at him in 2005. And I never saw him fall down...

I agree with Dazz99, Warhammer is going to be another AOC (played beta at a few different stages). Especially since they ripped out 40% of the content.

What content did they rip out that is considered 40%?
And no, WAR is not going to be another shitty AOC.
