How do i get those xml files ? Or Maybe someone can put them all through a translator and upload them with an instruction...

(Place it in the bin folder where xrEngine is located and run the bat file, all database files will be unpacked with the patch file added ontop of it, just rename the folder called "Unpacked" to "Gamedata" and do that alteration to the FSGame file to allow the files to be read outside the archives in order for mods to work.

Oh and most textures are identical so you're favorite weapon retextures from Stalker will work just fine albeit most of them are already updated. (Slightly modified from the 2215 beta so things look more realistic, however the AK-74 is still using the old "green" texture and not the brown one from beta 2215.)

well so now if the retail in US / europe will be out with sf (doubt) it will work almost. but if is need to replace the .dll every 3 days with a new one like someone have told is not a good thing though

hmm do you also get slowdowns in the game ? I really love it so far...not comparable to stalker soc ... but these suck...

It's more demanding than Shadow of Chernobyl was but there's a few different render modes so try a lower one or tweak it via the console if you think framerate is too low. Smile
(The presets goes from the lowest quality which is the R1/DX8 render path to R2a which is object dynamic lightning and then to R2 which is fully dynamic lightning and from there it goes to R2.5 which is well I don't know what it is but it's a improved DX9 render path and finally you have the R3/DX10 render path, also some commands like -mblur and R2_TF_Mipbias doesn't work when using DX10 but even so DX10 mode looks fantastic though it's very demanding and DX9/R2.5 is also very impressive and not too far off how DX10 looks.)

So do i need to enter something in the console to use DX10 or is it used automatically when using vista and hd 4870...

Just select the highest lighting quality in the graphics options and you're using DX10 i guess.

Ah! Thx mate! Looks awesome Very Happy I can't really tell, but do God Rays work in DX9?

That third screen with the flying guy is great, you can almost hear him screaming "WAAARRRGHHH" Razz

What's your first impression? Is it buggy or quite stable?

God Rays is the sunshafts of what? Sry , I'm hungarian , but if its that , yes it works in high and extreme graphics too (DX9)!
Yes its quite stable ,I don't get any bug yet but sometimes my life is going down but nobody shooting at me or someting ... maybe i"m bleeding I have no other idea.
Another thing:
The game is runs much better at 16×AA than 0 AA , and with everything maxed out the game runs better than high quality Confused
Somewhere the graphics is shit but the game is good

But it runs BETTER at maximum anti-aliasing then it does with NO AA? I think the graphics are quite reasonable, no complaint from me Smile

R3 is DX10 so the DX10 exclusive stuff would be this->

r3_dynamic_wet_surfaces on (That wet surface effect.)
r3_dynamic_wet_surfaces_far 30. (Unsure but I have a idea.)
r3_dynamic_wet_surfaces_near 10. (Same as above.)
r3_dynamic_wet_surfaces_sm_res 256 (Water resolution for that wet effect?)
r3_gbuffer_opt off (No idea, based on description it might be geometry buffer optimization.)
r3_msaa on (MSAA for DX10 mode, normally AA doesn't work properly with Stalker, added in the 1.5.003 update.)
r3_volumetric_smoke on (Volumetric smoke.)
(Taken from my user.ltx file, tweaked it a bit and as I said not all R2_ commands work with DX10 mode such as the R2_TF_Mipbias commands which are used to sharpen or blur texture resolution.)

EDIT: R2_Soft_Water and R2_Soft_Particles could have been DX10 as the devs mentioned soft particles being DX10 but R2 means the DX9 renderers. (There's three of them, a basic one and a full one both from Shadow of Chernobyl and a new "Enhanced" one, DX10 is based on the code in the Enhanced DX9 renderer but ofcourse written for DX10.)

yeah ugly dx9 screens... i am playing with dx10 max details at 1920x1200 it looks pretty decent. runs ok with gf280.

Show us some SIGNIFICANT improvements over the DX9 screens then? There's virtually no difference between them as another site has had comparison screenshots of DX9 and DX10.

Ok, the game looks freaking awesome, the mouse movement can be a bit jerky at times, I have no idea whats up with that and I have no idea where to go from the start.

Does anyone know how to enable AA?
