Game is definitely looking better than the last time we saw it, and I'm glad Bethesda showed off the use of other skills and not just the combat. The speech skill being of use if good to know, and I'm a bit more positive about the game.
I am however resigned to the fact that it's not Fallout (especially since Bethesda sort of missed the point about the world not ending in the 1950's but in a future as envisioned by Americans from the 1950's).
Bethesda should really just have showed off these videos at E3 and not that video which made the game look very similar to Oblivion.
Here's to more use of skills in the game!
Edit: Though I still don't like the inventory system.
The only Falloutish moment in the recent videos was Megaton. That reminded me of Junktown a little bit. I sure won't help that sadistic bastard blow that place up.
Did anyone notice, in the second video walkthrough of Megaton, the zoomed-out isometric/top-down view? That should rekindle a bit of the old Fallout feel don't you think? Play the whole game in that view and you've GOT Fallout as you remember it.

You can't really play the game in that view. Maybe for navigating towns, but you won't be able to target anything accurately with it, as Bethesda has admitted.
But who knows, maybe it'll be possible to mod in a way so that it plays kinda like those top down encounter missions in Rearmed, as in when in that view, all your shots are automatically aimed at the torso level so you're sure to hit opponents.
Still a top down-semi isometric shooter isn't Fallout as I remember it.

You could use the VATS system for combat, not the real-time one.
I know, I know.. I'm grasping at straws trying to help people accept FO3 *grins bashfully*
As I understand it you use up your AP by using VATS, so no you can't simply use VATS to replace the "normal" combat.
I watched the 5 vids and honestly doesn't look that great, the pickpocket part was nice. The combat is too Shooter-like imho and all those bloody kills -.-. I bet all the kids will take the bloody mess perk first.. Other then that if the title of the game wouldn't be Fallout I'm sure I would like it more^^
Nope, because I won't be disappointed. Everything I've seen so far has just made me want the game -- unlike you guys, I don't hate everything that comes out. Either your standards are astronomically high, or you're all just morons who are never happy with anything. Period.
I'm sure it will be an ok game, amazing in fact with a couple of dozen mods, but nothing that should sexually arouse you anyway these movies do look nice, better than e3.
Yeah, whenever I read someone getting over-excited about a game, I always remember the guy who was soooo excited over Oblivion that he was drooling all over the forum pages in angst before release, and every other word he wrote was "fuck".
On second thought, I kinda miss him.
Well I can say fuck and Sabin can drool is that okay?

You talking about Supermax? Yeah, he was the tool.
Oh man... Fooled again... Each time I spot a green icon on this thread; my heart lights up and I quickly open it in hopes there is a new bit of information about Fallout 3, some small inkling of the game... What do I get? Spam...Meh!
