Yes it will. You don't know how poorly my card is performing compared to how it should. |

You mean, apart from the ones in my sig?
I know my performance will increase by quite a lot simply because I've seen, first hand, what this card can do with a highly-clocked Core2. Mine can't, doesn't, do that. You should see my 3DMark06 score and the performance of Call of Juarez. It's embarassing and was higher on my Opteron. Much higher.

I'll try your tip too sabin, i'll give the full dynamic lighting a go. Guess there's not that much difference is there? |
The lighting won't as nice, but it's a HELLUVA lot better than no sun shadows.

Anyway, that CPU is powerful enough, sabin, feel free to upgrade it though, hehe. By the way, you have installed AMD's processor driver and dual-core optimizer, right ?

Yeah, the tickbox for signatures is only on by default if I don't quote someone. If I quote someone, it doesn't place the sig by default for some reason *shrugs*
I am upgrading it, lol. I've got an Asus P5K-Pro and a Core2-E7200 in the post coming over to me. As for the drivers, yep, both installed.
For the record, I get less than 8200 3DMarks and CoJ is mostly unplayable in DX10 mode. A lot of other games are performing a LOT lower than they did on my Opteron, which spanked the shit out of this POS I've got right now.

some ppl just dont listen. yes its great gfx.. in fact amazing but it takes a dam nuclear power plant and 10 supercomputers just to get to the menu options. from the sounds of it, its not a great game anyway and its not like i expected it to be. im thinking far cry 2 will have better performance than this and that will kick ass..
Ryzen 5 5600, ASUS ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING WIFI II, Corsair Vengeance RGB RT 32GB 3600MHz C16, MSI RTX 5070 Ti Ventus 3X OC , Corsair RMx Series RM750x. AOC AGON AG324UX - 4K 144Hz 1ms

Far cry is far more optimized than any game known for its graphics
requirement are very reasonable
now this stalker here isn't a game with mind blowing graphics that need NASA computers to run it , it's just a heavily unoptimized buggy as hell piece of shit

Yeah I noticed I missed a few of those, anyway I used the file from Shadow of Chernobyl for reference and corrected most of the issues, there might be some minor problems left for the new sections but I haven't seen many of those in the options menu.
(Several multiplayer commands and descriptions plus a few DX10 commands that doesn't seem to be used such as DX10.1 and DX10 MSAA, still translated and problably used in the game as DX10 MSAA can be adjusted via the console but they are missing from the main menu.)
EDIT: Checked the script files, that MSAA command is meant for alpha textures.
(Can be set on/off and is thus tied to the Anti-aliasing command.) |
JBeckman, could you give more detail about DX10.1 using in clearsky, such as comands, or sth, thx.

The xml file I translated lists the following.
</string>
<string id="ui_mm_r3_DX10_1">
<text>DX10.1</text>
</string>
<string id="ui_mm_r3_gbuffer_opt">
<text>Geometry buffer</text>
</string>
<string id="ui_mm_r3_MSAA">
<text>MSAA</text>
You can't select any of these via the options menu but you can toggle the geometry buffer and DX10 MSAA via console so those commands still exist, however I'm unsure about DX10.1 perhaps it was never implemented or perhaps it's used on compatible hardware, there's no way to actually check this though.

Ok;
A. Enabling Sun Shadows *drastically* increases visual quality. Enabling this and comparing to STALKER 1 is like comparing Crysis to Far Cry.
B. Enabling Sun Shadows *drastically* reduces game performance.
Now average FPS in the camps has dropped to 10-15, from 30. In the wilderness it's not so bad, down to 30 from 50ish. My machine simply cannot run this game with max settings if I use Sun Shadow, but now I've seen what it looks like WITH SS .. I'm loathe to turn it off. I'm going to play with a few of the settings, find a compromise that allows me to keep SS enabled.
Damn you Flowmo. Damn you all to Hades. |
Let me ask you:
Sun shadows is only a Dx10 option?
Can you make a screen with the difference between SS ON and OFF?
Thx.

I think it's torrents. Probably one of the more public sites as it looks like everybody has access and can get it.

Sun shadows work for DX9, they're kinda required to give everything proper shadows.
The above translation covers all fifty files in the text folder so everything is translated albeit it's a very quick translation but it's not that hard to understand.
EDIT: To see the difference between shadows on and shadows off just switch from R2_Sun On and R2_Sun Off in the console.

Hmm it looks totally different with JBeckmans new ui xml file. I think the gfx looked better with extreme setting on the old xml file hehe... seems the xml file also influences the available settings that are used and not only the translations ?

It definitively shouldn't do anything like that as I only translated the text between the <text> tags and not the commands themselves.
Not all settings are available in each render mode however and some settings that can be adjusted might not have any real effect.

Download this, and unpack to the Gamefolder, then you should have fast translated game in english with russian audio.
JBeckman wrote: | http://www.sendspace.com/file/kct8fr
English translation from someone, not by me, found on the official forums.
EDIT: It does however look like it's using my first version of the main menu translation, that one has a few issues regarding translation "correctness" so use the fixed version a page or two back.
