K, I'd sacrifice any member of this forum for ANY region version that will work on PAL anytime before the weekend.

Just played for about an hour and i have to say im sorry for Pal guys because this game has been awesome so far.

First of all the game is gorgeous. The style, the animations, the landscape (i was escaping a castle and it was beautifully done) everything is just top notch. Everything has such amazing details that its like watching a high budget anime movie (well you do watch it sometimes, and the transitions are very well done).

The voice acting is decent for American translation. Every important conversation is voiced, but minor ones when you are talking to guards or some other not very important stuff you have to read the bubbles like in comics. The music is also beautiful, peaceful tone while you are exploring and a nice heroic music while you are fighting.

The fighting so far is very simple. I basically have two attacks. B does a quick combo, and A uses Arte skill which is more powerful but uses TP (i guess like magic points ?). You can also combine them into a combo. So far every guard had a specific attack which is easily remembered. So i usually press B twice and then finish with A and hold X to block, and then repeat again and they are dead. But from Ign's review it says you will get new combos, moves and weapons down the line. I actually HATE turned based JRPGs and the real time combat is the only reason i got this one.

Cant comment on the story so far because, well, im in the very beginning so so far its been pretty standard stuff, a bad guy steals something and you go hunt him down.

Really enjoying it so far everything from the combat to dialogue. I have a strange problem with my burn though. It takes forever to load the game. At first i thought i fucked up the burn. When i insert the disc, it loads into the namco logo and then the drive makes this weird rhythmic sound like its reading it. But i waited like 3-4 minutes and it loaded and then while in the game absolutely no problems, quick loads and smooth.

Sig too big. -Nothing is too big for Fedor. Expect a nasty armbar.

It sounded vaguely familiar at first, especially the whole "B does a quick combo while A uses Artes which consume TP" part .. and then I recalled; I've played the demo on XBL. It fucking OWNED!

Now I'm even more psyched for the game Smile

You can try ebay they have them very occasionally, I have decided that I due to the amount of region locking going on with rpgs that I will have to absorb the import taxes and get one.

go into the strategy section in the menu (the chess board). If you read the bottom of that page you'll see (X)Edit (Y)Formation Pretty self explanitory ~_~

Oh, and to set shortcuts, scroll down past the first for slots (the LS ones) and you'll go into the Right Stick page, from there you can Left/Right trigger to switch between all your characters and pick what combos you want to shortcut to the right stick. So RS -> could be set to Estelle's Sharpness ability so in battle you just have to hit the stick to the right to have her cast it on you.

AWESOME! That helps a lot with the RS commands. I still dont get the formations though ... Inside the chessboard menu it looks as though they are mapped to the digital pad but every combination of buttons I have tried in conjunction with the damn digital pad seems to do nothing. They never move to the new formation or anything and I never hear like a character shouting "DEFENSE!" or anything. I hope that better explains my predicament.

ooooh, i misread your post. During combat you:
Press (Y) to bring up the menu
Press and hold LB to show what formation you're in, and while holding LB you press L/R/U/D depending on what you want to switch to.
Release LB and the formation will change to what you selected.

FWIW, if you read the Battle Book, it has a couple chapters explaining this.

This was definitely worth the wait. I'm playing with my cousin and at hard mode. Some fights are still challenging.

I don't have the game but I assume it's Coop on one console with each of the players controlling 1 char in battle. Up to 4 players/chars.
