"War.. War never changes."

Good thing Ron Perlman is back for the narration of the 3rd game. Because simply hearing those words being uttered by this man reminds me that this is still fallout.

Bzzt. Wrong. This isn't Fallout.

This will be a take on Fallout that completely misses the point, but as far as I've seen, will still provide an enjoyable gaming experience.

Also Ron Perlman should have a talk with Solid Snake and his moronic proxy wars.

What were you expecting? Neither Black Isle Studios nor Troika Games exist anymore. Obviously Bethesda wanted to bring something different to the table. The game isnt out yet so I dont really have much to say about it other than the fact that no book should ever be judged by its cover.

Could you kindly explain what the "point" of Fallout is?

Because as I remember it, when you boil it down, the point of Fallout was that it was a fun, immersive RPG set in a gritty retro-post-apocalyptic world with lots of 40s/50s trappings.

Troika in itself had nothing to do with the Fallout games though. The only thing they have in common is that Troika was founded by three key members from the team behind Fallout. But I do get your point.

Nope, because I won't be disappointed. Everything I've seen so far has just made me want the game -- unlike you guys, I don't hate everything that comes out. Either your standards are astronomically high, or you're all just morons who are never happy with anything. Period.

Take your pick.

Maybe you are just too young to have played the real classics and so you do not have the proper basis for your expectations.

Just a guess here.

For one who played fallout 1, 2 and tactics.. the whole idea of the real time 3D FPS themed action/rpg/shooter oblivion total conversion they are making.. lets just say that it makes me puke more than radiation sickness.

Im sure the game will be a nice sci-fi oblivion in its own right and as someone else said, would they not call it fallout, i prolly would have no problem with it either. Then again, they are supposedly making a fallout game, from which the only really fallout like thing is the name and the theme.

Will see when it actually comes out, but my expectations towards it are actually somewhere on the level of this planet's core. Which is good, as i will surely not be disappointed by the game Razz

It just will not be fallout, no matter how hard they try.

By the way, i seem to have read it somewhere, that they will not release the CS along with the game, but sometimes later? Why do i have the feeling, that bethesda is actually more and more concerned about mod developers putting them out of the micro mod selling business?

The fact that you played the vastly over-used "you must be too young" card shows how idiotic you truly are. Age has no bearing on whether or not I think a game will be fun and I'm no doubt considerably older than you, so you can go fuck yourself.

I think it's called being polite. Just plain being nice. And skip the curse words if the post you responds to don't use them.

He said; MAYBE you are just too young. He was forming a possible argument for why you don't appreciate his point of view and made the all encompassing claim; "Either your standards are astronomically high, or you're all just morons who are never happy with anything. Period."

Nobody insulted you. Check his post, it was very conscientious.

I said, maybe.. and didnt make any personal remarks on that. So please hold you horses before you really piss me off.

Age INDEED has a bearing in what games you did or did not play. Even though fallout is realtively "new" compared to some of the other classics out there, 1997 was still like 11 years ago. So someone who 18-20 years old now might not really have played a game that was aimed - at that time - at players of age 16-18+.

So again.. think before you write something down and watch the tone.. no need to start throwing insults around.

You take it as an insult, it was clearly not meant as one.
And in all honesty it's not that hard to insult you.

Come on, you are way overreacting, he was only guessing if you didn't experienced fo1-fo2 and tactics because you may be too young. It was you who started with fucksticks and fuck yous.

oh, I'm terrified. Look at me. I can barely stop myself from shaking.

I don't care whether you said "maybe" or whether you outright implied it, which you did, all I care about is why people like you constantly bring up the age card. "You're too young" It's the older, and most pathetic, internet flame.

Fallout isn't new to me, but liking FO1 doesn't automatically mean I should hate FO3, unlike almost everyone in this thread. None of you seem to grasp the fact that *I* like how it looks so far, so why can't you just back off and let me enjoy what I enjoy?

Actually, from the name there, im guessing he is bout 27-28 now (unless its his son or dauther or pet that was born in '81 Smile.

No matter the age tho, his behavior is childish and immature.

By the way, sabin. You can take the above sentence as an insult, but i advise you to take it as some rightful criticism towards you.

peace.

ps:

People bring that up, because:
Young people often do stupid things, not because they are stupid, but because they are inexperienced. Now i could just say: you are stupid, but the remark, you are too young is a lot more gentle and closer to the truth.

As for my reason for the comment, i did explain that fairly well.. It has to do with the game's release date and its target audience. If you fail to understand that, its really not my problem.

If you intend to feel hostile towards me in the future.. well Smile feel free to. I'll not have to cry myself to sleep because of that.

My point is that instead of acting polite, like you expect me to do to you, and actually asking IF I'd played the originals, you immediately went for the age. Funny that. Care to explain why?

I have always enjoyed the FO games, but judging from the opinions on here - doing so means I'm not allowed to look forward to, or enjoy, FO3. It's completely illogical and makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
