It looks alright, personally I've been really disappointed with Square Enix's titles for a while now. I especially don't like their attempts at a real time combat system. If you can't do it right, don't bother, people were pretty happy with the turn based (or time based) system.

No idea how well it'll control, looked really clunky during that dragon-chase-fireball thing.

Just wanted to say that the game is from tri-ace(Star Ocean), so I hope they get the Real-Time battle right. But I agree that if the combat system is shit the whole game is kinda worthless.
The preview vid on gametrailers looks pretty nice, though.

according to IGN it's just an average rpg and it's pretty short too (20-30 hours)

Damn I was hoping for an 8.5~ 50-80 hours game Sad

at least tales of vesperia doesn't seem to be a disappointment.

1UP gave it a 7.5 and the reviewer needed 30h to complete the main story
he notes that there are 4 difficulty levels and an additional dungeon at the end of the game which could extend the time played

hey the same is with Lost Odyssey , you only need 20h to finish it , but those crapy makers force you to play it 50h to build a 50lvl min character to finish this game

it's not by the final fantasy guys. it's by the star ocean guys. real time battles, no random battles from what I know. japanese story and characters? Most likely, considering it's a japanese game..doh...are they shitty? I doubt it. Do you dislike japanese story and characters? Obviously!

So bottom line... yes this is a japanese rpg and you apparently don't like japanese rpgs so no this is not for you.
