I need a good program to convert MKV movies into a supported file for stream to X360. And i want to keep the DTS audio after converting.

Converting a mkv file is a pain in the A$$. Never easy and I have done tons to wmv so
I can play them on my 360.

I use TmpEnc (or something with that name) to convert to wmv using a template.

For the DTS sound I use Tranzcode which splits the DTS sound file into 6 wavs. The I use Besweet to re-mux the six wavs into a AC3 file which has 5.1 sound

If you get one with a DTS track it has to be converted to a 5.1 The program I use to encode doesn't support a DTS track. I have yet to find one that works well in keeping the track.

The only thing I wish I could figure out is the damn buffer problem. I've seen your thread on that and read through it. Since I burn all my movies on a DL disc and play them from the drive, this problem happens all the time. It starts out fine but after while you hear the drive making noise and you just know it's gonna quit and put up an error message.

Sunds like more of a pain to convert them with full quality. As for teh buffering, i think the problem is my router who cant send that much information for long.

If you don't care about 5.1 audio, Gotsent is the best method. The video is untouched, but the audio is downgraded to 2.0. A movie takes around 10 mins. 1080p movies don't work though, the creator talked about some Xbox360 technical mumbo jumbo.

This is why we need a new exploit for the 360 ,then hombrew player could be coded and support all formats.
