Sorry it seems I was wrong with those instructions, most direct way is to press alt-enter and drag the PNG file directly in the creature creator then do a preview to see how the creature looks when fully detailed and lastly save the changes.
(Tried it with a few different ones, works fine but not the best way to add new content.)

I have a legit serial via EA's download program and the game when logged in will populate your galaxy with custom creatures and such randomly selected from Sporepedia,

So if I download the game and then get a legit key from the download service, can I play without a disk? if so that's great. Let's us play early but switch it to legit later on so we can enjoy the full package..

Correct, installed from Reloaded's release and used the serial from EA Store, game works just fine without copying anything or requiring a disc in the drive.
(It's securom online though so you'll use up a activation but it's not exactly a problem for most people.)

55 fucking euros? 55? Seriously? Most games cost 40-50 euros (I remember buying Test Drive Unlimited for 40 euros, two copies actually so me and my buddy could play online), but Spore is oh-so-fucking special that costs above any average game without being a collector's edition?

For a game that's going by Maxis' policy of expansions... No way I'm cashing out 55 euros for Part 1 of 7 of a game "we cut features from to save them for expansions".

EDIT: "50USD to EUR" in Google returns 35 euros, not 55. But I guess something in the air makes it worth 20 euros more around here than in the US.

EDIT 2: Any way to buy it from the EA US store without being from the US? Any tricks required?

I believe one of the points touched in one of the reviews were the difficulty settings, easy was too easy, medium and hard were too hard.

The space age is kinda annoying atleast what micromanagement is concerned, for each new colony you are expected to create a new type of building, of course you can select the old one, but the fact that you just have to go through that process itself is annoying as hell.

Later in the game you also get planetary defenses, but they are totally bullshit, your planets still get attacked and if you choose to ignore it they get plundered, if you act on it you can come to the planet with the threat almost eliminated, and just wait for the planetary defense to blow up the last couple of ships.

I hope they improve on the micro in a patch or something, it is pretty annoying to setup each colony individually which is up to 3 colonies per planet, in a solar system with multiple planets and in a galaxy with thousands of solar systems.

I live in europe and bought the game in the EA store (USA version) for 34€, just give them a valid US address and phone (google some US company and use their info), and use Paypal, if you give them your credit card, they check the country of the CC, and deny the order, if you use PayPal, they don't know where the money is coming from.

the only disavantages are: No physical version, only digital download. US release date is 7th of setember (you can use the Pirated version right NOW). digital download version is in english only (the european version is in several languages).

I've installed the game using my legal serial and it worked fine (the instalation), but I haven't had the chance to play the game yet, but other people here in this forum have, just read a couple of pages back.

I was going to come in here and post about how much grind the gameplay had so far. It certainly isn't that enjoyable so far... we'll see how it goes.

The best way is with sporecasts. Anyone can create them and when logged into the game you just subscribe to these sporecasts and it will automatically download and update them when necessary. Give it a try.

Well, that's the game with so much customization options, they forgot about making an actual gameplay fun. Sure, you can breed your own race of spacefaring four-legged orks riding around in Madcats and StarDestroyer-Hindenburg contraptions, but the game itself is shallow Sad

I expect lots of addons coming out, but compared to the sims i am actually looking forward to them. So much stuff to add in, most of all making gameplay alot deeper and more distinguished.

While my original level of hype has died down somewhat, I still love Spore. Sure, it's not perfect, but it has so much potential for expansions it's unbelievable. It's big. And it could be a lot bigger.

I had a number of interesting and fun things happen tho, to the game's credit. During the creature stage, I found a crashed spaceship. It didn't do nothing but it was still neat anyway and it gets you thinking, since you often see spaceships flying around during the creature stage dropping off other creatures or using the enlarging beam on a creature and making it monsterous (You later get that ability yourself once in the space stage).

So when I was systematically obliterating a tribal species off a planet, village by village, I find myself wondering, was the AI expanding on other planets in the background and evolving? Were those ships I saw flying around during my creature stage, ships from AI species that had gained space travel sooner then myself? No, most likely not.

If that was happening in the background while your playing your current game, that would be some awesome and epic stuff. Too bad. Sad

Yep. As i stated earlier, I can't wait for the expansions to this game. i hope they expand every stage to it. I hope thye don't juts add visual stuuf (body parts and clothes) but, i hope they add deeper gameplay elements. It really is mind boggling when you start considering the stuff they can do with this thing. Talk about a gold mine.

Yeah, something like that would be a double-edged blade, on one side it would be awesome if the whole universe were out there, on the other hand it would suck if suddenly someone abducts you, or worse.

You can do it "yourself" during the space phase, so that's pretty neat, you can even put some species at an advantage so you meet them as allies later on.

Are you serious? Im not going to say that this is game of the year like the people who hyped it, but its not a horrible game. I admit, when me the wife first sat down and played it, we were bored after the first 6 hours. I have high hopes of mods and addons to make the gameplay better, but these things take time. Hell it may never happen, but this game isn't for your "retarded" and "girls"

So has anyone managed to solve the tediousness of defending your planets that keep screaming for your attention all the time? I can't play the game ffs because I need to be defending 24/7.

I also think fisk should be unbanned.
