EA ruined it, the only reason it's not on consoles is the online sharing crap which would be tough to implement, not sure what's interesting in seeing other people's creatures and vehicles, they don't have different personality's or anything they are all the same, and the vehicles are crap too.

Game is gimmicky p.o.s . Preordered it monday, it didn't get here before the weekend so I tried rld release. What a waste of time, i swear they should give this thing free with some children's science magazine. Beyond the editor there's absolutly no dept whatsoever. And even that sucks, how can you create your own unique creature when you have to use certain parts depending on what path you take? If you want to be a lvl 5 carnivore you have to select from 3 mouths, 2 of which are almost identical. This game is just plain bullshit through and through.
And what get me the most is there's no fucking autosave! I played from creature stage to civ stage in one sitting. I was just about to capture the last city and was hoping space stage could save this game and it crashes. No problem says me, i'll just reload. Of course thinking in this day and age no game would be without an autosave, at least between stages. But no i'm back at the fucking creature stage with some armless freak.
Will Wright needs to drop this p.o.s asap. The Sims in my opinion was a great franchise and if nothing else it had infinite replayability. I'm day one with Spore and i couldn't be bolloxed playing through it again. The second my copy arrives it's going straight back.

Well I'm enjoying it, spent ½hour alone designing and testing legs, another half hour of city hall building and vehicle will most likely take an hour, but saving that for later. Just slapped 4 wheel in to a box so I could save.
Closing in on 10 hours give or take a couple and just starting civilization stage. Should have at least 2 replays left as omnivores and herbivores (keeping the green and yellow lines). Then you could just play different stages multiple times.
It does take patience to enjoy it, or you can just complete what is required and blast though it in a hurry and then bitch was that it!  Most fun in Sims for me was building a house, played just first and didn't bother doing it too long either.
Sims sold gazillions and for me this is a better game. I can see why some don't like it as well, it's not for every one and it does mix a lot of games (and UIs) into one. Would I buy it, probably not, it's not that good, but it's fun.

Dono, my opinion would be something like this:
cell level: 7-10, good, but it is minigame
creature level: 9-10, I loved that one. Customizing creature and fighting is amazing. A lot of little bonuses, like boss monsters.
tribe level: 8-10, Loved that one as well. Mini age of empires strategy game.
city level: 4-10, Annoying as hell. Fast paced rts. A lot of customizing options, but they went too far here. You need to customize, each building in city and each unit. I ended using premade models. And its a bit of a mess with minimap and unit controls. (is there any option to disband units?) Only good thing is that you can rush through that level. Quickly build up to 10 tanks, capture all money pits and cities on own continent, build 1-2 ships to capture some sea money pits, then when you get airplanes build them like its no tomorrow. Oh, and in the cities build only houses.
space level: 3-10, its just boring, and I even didn't find any way to rush through it jet.

It is my understanding, that the city population has no effect on the game. In fact the best thing you can have is to find the layout of the city where it yields the most bonuses from factories, balanced out by entertainment buildings.
So unless theres something i dont know bout those cities, building just houses is actually a rather dumb thing to do and a waste of money.

Omg, you guys should have watched this show I watched last nite/early this morning. Its a sci fi show. they cover movies and comic books and videogames and shit like that.
They devoted one whole segment to Spore and they made it sound like it was gold. According to the host "this is the most ground breaking, innovative game we've seen in the last 10 years and if they gave out emmy's for games, spore would win them all"
I wonder if the fuckin idiot even played the game.....groundbreaking my ass....

But when they rated MGS4 they gave it 3.5 outta 5
like seriously, why not hire ppl like us who actually play games and know a good game when we play one.

Not as bad from the review from The Sun newspaper in the UK, he gave it 98% and thought he was playing an MMO when he got to space, believing each planet and it's inhabitants were being controlled by a real person, fucking numbnuts.
I like the game, but 98%? fucking come on, that's just stupid.

only part i liked, was the cellstage. Where it actually made a difference what you did (everything you used was actually used ...) after it just becomes tedious and boring as crap. Like i was afraid of, they dumbed it way way down to please their kiddie customers. I mean seriously, its just about cluster the most possible parts together to get the most possible effects "that stack". Doesn't matters, if you have 1 tiny spike on your belly, or a freaking razor wall of spike on your tail to head .. it does the same thing and the same damage ... fucking joke ...
anyway, great cellstage, bit limited still, but oh well. But all in all, this game is a borefest.

Cant wait till tonite when the gaming shows (bunch of em are on on saturdays) rate this game.
They've been talking about it for the last like 3 months like it was the second coming of christ
Tho my niece is coming over this weekend and it'll give her something to play. She's always wanting to play games on my cpu but most of my games arent appropriate for her. this game is
She can play spore while my nephew and i watch transformers...he's 4 years old and his bitch mom wont let him watch it but my brother said its ok if he does just as long as my sister in law doesnt find out.
And I think he'd like Serenity and Live Free or Die Hard.

Completely agree, why on earth does my vehicle shoot one big blob shoot when I have different weapons and hard points, they should have made them all shoot separately this way it doesn't matter whatever you put on them, same thing with creatures if I put a strike sting on my tail it would be awesome if my creature used that tail with all it's mass and momentum, like a scorpion, when I use the strike button but no, god damn dreadful design, also the 'branching in two' when customizing pisses me off , the only thing I liked was the first stage it's like this game is a fraud you think it's great but it just goes downhill. |

yea well, if your low on money you need to build some factories and entertainement houses to balance happines, but besides that houses are best because of unit limit, and more units you have better you are. zerg rush, kekeke ^_^

It's pretty good. The cell stage was a lot of fun, the land part was boring, really boring, tribes stage the same, civilization stage was actually pretty cool though extremely limited in comparison with other games in the same genre of course and space stage, which is, in my opinion, the best stage and the most fun stage. Thank god I can play just the space stage now instead of going through the entire game again.
