SpykeZ is totally right, San Andreas had major problems in the controls departement involving gamepad : I never got my Logitech Rumblepad to work fully, specially the right analogic stick iirc.
I had to use a third party proggy to make it work, which unfortunately DOES NOT work with SA:MP... such a shame, it was a decent port apart from that...
On-topic, I have no doubt GTA IV will get a brilliant PC version. (and I can't wait)

I couldn't care less about that shit and especially about how much hd space does it require.

If the game is good on PC, then the HDD space doesn't matter.
I remember Turok taking up 15 gigs and wasn't worth it at all. Pile of crap!
And besides that we have enormous hard drives at low prices nowadays so whining about this is girly...

That's even more stupid... If you decide to include lower resolution textures, then ask in the installation which of them you want installed, just like games from the past allowed (don't mean the older GTAs, but other PC games). |
It could possibly do on custom install, but this is recomended specs, for the highest install level, so assuming you selected Install Everything. Who the fuck knows, it's just conjecture, no point arguing who's right or wrong, it can't be proved either way.

I have almost the same gamepad (I have the cordless rumblepad 2) and it worked NP here on GTA SA. Admittedly I only use the pad for driving bits but on GTA games, I prefer mouse / keyboard for foot bits.

The requirements have been removed from GfWL site, probably on R* behalf.
Rockstar's probably optimizing the game now.

They are optimizing the game all the time during development, especially towards the end.

you forgot to mention half the world has more than 1 HD in their HD and were all not running those old 20GB HD's
seriously though, you could buy 9 HD's with the cost of buying a new video card this day and age. If you can afford a computer to run games, then you can afford a new HD, a 500GB western digital is only 75 bucks here in the states.

Hard discs are too small this days, I mean, with the speed of internet and the things you can download, and the games/videos/etc being bigger and bigger everyday, hard disc industry is failing. I think we need single discs of 10TB or something. And if this is not bad enough, they are starting again with small sized solid state discs.
Oh! and because I don't wanna be totally off-topic; Of all games to be released this year, I think GTA4 will be the second best one, being the first Fallout3.
