Heh, what do ya expect from ppl here? They get a free version early and all ya hear is 'whine, bitch, moan...'

Anyways just got my legit version(even after playing the russ w/eng lang fix for a week). Purchased from steam, will unlock in a few hrs. Anyone else who wants a LEGIT US VERSION can do the same. Sheesh...

3 September 2008

GSC Game World announces its S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl has sold 1 million copies worldwide and 1 million licensed copies in ex-USSR countries.

Finished CS.

In a few words? Abrupt ending. No real details/explanations... and the ending video is vague.

Just some advice: once you hit Limansk, you can't go back. Keep that in mind when you're about to enter that area...

It's a prequel to Shadow of Chernobyl (The first Stalker game.) so if you know the story of that game (Completed with the two good endings, not one of the bad ones.) you'll understand most of Clear Sky, if not then you'll probably not understand everything about the ending and what happens.

i'm playing with the english version too
the one with
1. Install game
2. Install patch 1.5.03
3. Copy START file to install folder
4. Copy bin\ from this folder to install folder
5. Mount stalker-mini image
6. Run S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Clear Sky with START file from install folder

-> this is <i think> the version you mentioned earlier

+ the script fixes for v1.5.03 @ http://www.sendspace.com/file/905sll
(edit fsgame.ltx & create gamedata folder)
+ carry more mod @ http://stalker.filefront.com/file/CLEAR_SKY_Carry_More;93868

and it works perfectly
although i'm not far into the game since i had to start over >.<
the only thing i don't like are the voiceovers lol

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Clear Sky - English Version

Not a proper crack, crappy workaround which crashes on 64Bit OS

I understood Shadow of Chernobyl perfectly, I'm just annoyed that we didn't get more story and something like an epilogue at the end of Clear Sky. The ending feels extremely rushed, that's all...

Well yeah you're right about that, ending sequence does feel a bit sudden and rushed.
(Movie doesn't actually explain much either so you need to understand what happened in Shadow of Chernobyl to understand what it shows but I also agree that it's not told and explained all that well so it can be confusing even for those who've completed SoC.)

No it's not, it prob would have been about 5 million copies sold if it weren't for piracy

I use vista 64 and understood that I shouldn't even try bothering since it doesn't work on 64. Any workaround yet? If not it's probably gonna take a while to crack the steam - direct 2 drive release.
Any help would be much apreciated!
