This is a useful thing :

Steps to unblackist virtual drives.
ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ

1. Go to your Control Panel

2. Doubleclick on System

3. Now click on the tab labeled Hardware

4. Then click on Device Manager

5. Under System devices you will find many names listed, but the only 2 you need to write down are "PnP BIOS Extension" and "Plug and Play BIOS Extension". "PnP BIOS Extension" belongs to Daemontools virtual drive and "Plug and Play BIOS Extension" belongs to Alcohol 120% virtual drive. Now you can close the Device Manager.

6. Go to your Windows directory and open regedit.exe (Registry Editor)

7. Now find this entry in the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM
\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\SYSTEM

8. Under SYSTEM you will find numbers like "0000" "0001" "0002" "0003" etc etc. Now click on any of this numbers and look for "DeviceDesc". "DeviceDesc" contains a description for the device. If you just have Alcohol 120% virtual drive installed you have to find the number that contains the "DeviceDesc" with the text "Plug and Play BIOS
Extension" next to it. And if you just have Daemontools virtual drive installed you have to find the number that contains the "DeviceDesc" with the text "PnP BIOS Extension" next to it. If you have both programs installed it speaks for it itself that you have to find both numbers.

9. Now to the important part. If for example the number "0002" contains the "DeviceDesc" with the the text "PnP BIOS Extension" next to it, you rightclick on the number 0002. Next you click on "Permission...". A window should appear. Under the header "Security" you first have to click on "SYSTEM". Then a menu with the name "Permissions for SYSTEM" appears below. In this menu you will see the the text "Read" with two choices next to it (Allow or Deny). Click on "Deny" then on OK and then on Yes. Do the same for the number that contains the "DeviceDesc" with the text "Plug and Play BIOS Extension" next to it. If you have done everything correctly "PnP BIOS Extension" and "Plug and Play BIOS Extension" should not not appear any more in the Device Manager under System devices.

10. After you have done this you can play allnew starforce games by mounting the mini image. By the way dont forget to disconnect your CD or DVD-drives or to disable them in the Bios. And if you have any other virtual drives other than Alcohol or Daemontools installed, just uninstall them!

11. Enjoy another bunch of Starforce protected games!

Tested & Works . Thanks to CXZ & The ppl that invented this ;]

Anyway is it working with Sacred PLUS(or 1.8)? Wink

I have tested the tool "starfuck" on 5 starforceprotected games now (Shade: Wrath of Angels, Soldiers - Heroes of World War II, Scrapland, Blitzkrieg: Rolling Thunder and The Fall: Last Days of Gaia (german version)) and I have encountered not one single problem yet. It is really nice that you dont have to disable your cd or dvd-drives in the bios anymore or have to disconnect the drives. As I have already stated you can download this tool now on usenet in the following group: a.b.test (search for starfuck_de.rar). People downloading the tool from there should be kind enough to upload it to free http mirrors, so that people without usenet-access can get it too. This tool is free and legal so sharing it is legal.

Btw: When the mini-image trick was first announced almost everybody said it was fake (they now know better). When I and others published the registry hack for starforce the same people said it was fake, until some clonegroups confirmed it was real. Now a tool called "starfuck" is released that allows you to hide your cd or dvd drives from being detected by starforce and still some people think it is fake. People should already know by now that starforce is vulnerable and such a tool was worked on by many coders.

The people that got the tool: Read my instructions that I published above. Try it and tell us your results.

Btw: People that have cd or dvd drives on both the primary and secondary ide channel can only use "starfuck" when their system harddisk (the harddisk where windows is installed) is located on a serial-ata harddisk!

Feel free to add or correct.

The nfo says:

Quote:
[...]
Presents: (c) TOP SPIN
[+-.. System.....: Windows 32
[+-...Company....: Atari, Microsoft Games Studios
[+-...ReleaseDate: October 28-2004
[+-...Packager...: CKY
[+-...Filename...: cky-tpsp.r0X
[+-...Genre......: Sports
[+-...Language...: English, German, Italian, French
[+-...Disks......: 48 x 15MB + 50 x 15MB ( 2 Cds )
[+-...Protection.: Serial Check
[+-...Players....: 1-2
[+-...Format.....: .bin/.cue
[+-...NetSupport.: Yes
[+-...Supplier...: CKY

-> Top.Spin.KEYGEN-RELOADED

So it has no real protection, not even cd-checks.

The tool "starfuck" can now also be downloaded from the newsgroup a.b.x (search for starfuck_de.rar). People downloading it from there should be kind enough to share it with others, since this tool is 100% legal and free!
