Yet either you have 2 gigs of video memory or you'll have crashes every 15 minutes because your GPU gets overloaded.

AT loading level "train", game crashes. What's wrong?

OK. Streaming off: Either you have ENOUGH memory in your GPU or the game crashes when the memory gets overloaded with textures. Enough is more than 512, but I heard that the game likes to crash on GTX280 too (1GB).

When memory get's overloaded the video card must start swapping data, which results in stuttering. And since dev's aren't script kiddies, they def would make the game crash wwhen that occurs.

I have always blamed the engine. When considering unnecessary shuttering (when there is no loading of textures) the game has never been optimized well. In fact, because of streaming the game is always loading something o.O.

What else is there to blame?

That's not inherently a bad thing, however it is not done well here.

Just finished the singplayer story in about 7hr and 30m, great game.
One thing that was pissing me of was the crashing, in the last two levels the game was crashing either on loading or saving a game.... i think this is conected to the extreme suttering im having while playing this game.
The game crashed in a total of 11 times trough the campaign.

Lol, that's... a lot. I would've given it up if I had been in your shoes... You have some nerves, I gotta admit.

I ended up enabling console commands and just loading the crashing maps by typing in "Map _____"

Crashed twice for me in the whole SP game, and that was only to desktop, stuttering stopped when I dropped Object Detail and Shadows to Gamer while everything else is set to Enthusiast, with a 1280x800 res, would not have been able to run these settings on the original Crysis.
Game seems a lot more optimised to me.

I'm on the last boss and the game crashes like every 5 minutes really annoying. Otherwise, it's pretty good.
My specs are :Q6600, 3gb ram, hd 4850... i get same fps as with Crysis. 25-30ish in open areas, 40-60 closed. Everything set on gamer and 1680x1050 reso. |
you are lucky, you get good fps, but i get bad frameerates and crashing..... :/
I really hope crysis wars runs fine, or i think im going to bomb crytek HQ..........
q6600
3870x2 1gb
4gb pc6400

I cant get past the SecuRom release date check at the end. It wants to connect to some ip which i dont really want... Isnt there a normal crack to avoid that?
I did not install the download manager. The secuRom check comes up anyway. It seems people without internet cant play this game or am i wrong?

I just let it have it's way, and put the crack in after the install was done.

Just finished it, never crashed for me. I really think its memory related, my 8800gt has 1024mb ram, and my system has 8gb. Crysis is only 32bit afaik, but it still got the maximum of 2gb ram this way. So maybe this is why I did not get any crashes.
Still great game, lots better than the original crysis.
