NVM that now my computer started freezing for ~1 sec every 2 sec after I played with that config for ~5 mins.

The fan profile for the 4xxx series is pretty low by default (27%) so idle and load temps will be pretty high, I've modified this a bit myself (45% idle and 55% load.) and that nearly halved the temperatures but the cards are also pretty durable and robust and can handle over 100c without problems.
(I'd not recommend anyone to keep them that warm however.)

I have my fans run at 50% at idle, and manually increase to 65% if needed (it's hot around here in IL). Mostly not needed though, @ 50% fan speed, the card is much cooler than my old 8800GTX, albeit a bit noisier than the 8800GTX @ 100% fan speed.

That's normal at 4800 series, it reaches 105 on stalker at 100% fan.

So, i just replace the original cvargroup folder with the tweaked one, and then i copy/paste the 'launch dx9' file in the main folder of warhead?

When 177.92 onboard I'm getting around 30-40 fps 1440x900 gamer, less than 30 fps in enthusiast, both playable. Not much of a shuttering now, seems drivers helped a bit. Still, I'm really liking the gameplay, however I finished 3 levels in less than an hour...
Temps normal for my 8800GT: 48 idle, up to 75 on 80% fanspeed during the game.

i start a new game, get the intro ish type thing...then black screen,i have tried the workaround in with the multi2 clone and another one, both end with the same result, blackscreen

LOL, I love this guy. The tweak works! The game is fully playable in enthusiast 1440x900, more than 30 fps average, almost NO SHUTTERING!

fuggit....have tried n tried to get this multi2 clone to work, reinstalled a load, still the blackscreen shit, if i hit ¬ (the console key) it says a load of stuff about "variables not right" its like the game is loading-or trying to but its looking in the wrong place, i did notice that the game exe had changed in appearance when i have copied over the bin32 folder.
any help would be appreciated

Just like most of the "magic tweaks" that were around last year for Crysis.
To each his own, but personally I prefer lower FPS and no stuttering ( texture streaming can cause the game to stutter a bit ) to having objects and vegetation popping up in this game.

The r_TexResolution=1 helps reducing videomemory usage while making the textures not as ugly as using sys_LowSpecPak=1 ( I have a 320Mb 8800GTS ).
