It's like HOMM but you also have a skilltree for your heroes.

I downloaded the demo and I uninstalled it immediately without starting because it is protected with StarForce 5 (the DEMO!! geez).

It's more like a trial cause you can activate it.

It's not exactly like HOMM. It's more like it's predecessor, meaning it's an adventure game and not TBS.
You have only one hero, yourself, and you can choose his class and skills.
You have the main quest and hundreds of side quests you can play over several continents and islands with npcs and stuff.
The battles and the overall look are similar to HOMM, but the gameplay is different.
Plus there are many interesting details - you can get yourself a wife and depending on whom you marry you get bonuses, demons to help you in fights and so on...it's very diverse and fun game, I highly recommend it.

I just meant the turn based combat since I'm guessing he was asking about the combat. Yes I know fallout has turnbased but this one is more like HOMM.
And I only played the game for ~10 mins but I liked the game so I will def be getting it.

Cool mate, just pointing it out for others. I enjoyed the game alot and I think people should try it out even if they didn't like games like HOMM because it is different, hence the explanation.

I'll get it if the game has some kind of skirmish mode. I never bother playing through the campaign in these kinds of games.
Anyone know if it does?

I played the original King's Bounty to death on the Amiga (my fav game at the time next to Sword of Aragon), and this feels very close to it with many cool additions. Played the demo and loved it.

Gamersgate usually don't use protection but there are a few exceptions, unsure in this case.

Ahhh... Someone mentioned Sword of Aragon on Amiga? That was a great game, my favorite too. AD&D and strategy and tactical battles and kingdom management... Quite unbalanced and because of that rather easy, but still great.

As of this moment there is a problem on Atari's website in that if you purchase the digital download of the game, it is not asking for a credit card number and is discounting the game by 39.99 The original price before discount is 39.99 I will leave it to the smarter members here tto figure out what this means as I am off to play the game now.

Oh crap so the game was free :-/ damn I didn't figure that out. Couldn't you just say it's free and not give us a riddle.... I suck at math.
Such a huge bug. So unreal.

The "King's Bounty The Legend ENG no crack" release uses a version of that online SecuROM activation it seems, shouldn't matter that much as most other titles with that activation has gotten cracked (Aside from a few patches such as Bionic Command 1.1 and Mass Effect BDtS).
