patch your stalker up to 1.0005. apply crack if needed.
edit the fsgame.ltx file (open it with notepad) and on the line where it says "gamedata" there's a variable that says false and then true. change the false to true, close it and save it.
copy the content of the mod to a \gamedata dir in the SoC directory. if you don't have one - create it. make sure that it's sitting there correctly (it has scripts/sounds/textures/spawns/meshes/config).

enjoy the great mod.

im not sure you can run forever, but you can run for MUCH more time than the game without the mod. i ran alot and eventually got tired. just pop an energy can and run again Wink

btw, there are drivable vehicles. just don't bump into anomalies with them. set a key for turning them on in the settings.

That's true, it's on the Russian section of the official forums, think is was posted previously as well. Smile
(Updated daily with news about what's been fixed or changed I believe.)

EDIT: That's the Russian version btw, expect a English patch a few days later, probably middle of the week afterwards as they don't work on weekends and the 26th is a Friday.

Unbelievable they take all the money every time, well I saved before so I'll have to spend all that money on goods now, probably on armor and weapon upgrades and stupid bandages I can get the goods back from the bandits but there is no cash when you kill them which is silly now that I think about it, there should be some money on every corpse you whacked.

Get the realism megamod http://www.megaupload.com/fr/?d=37HQ1IYX (fix url tags please rinze) , it includes a ton of stuff to make clear sky more realistic weapon wise "think oblivion lost" and the mandatory sleeping bag plus a lot of fixes.

Then if you think the textures could be sharper, get S.H.A.R.P.E.R at no fps hit.
And the fix as well

And that will help me how Confused, I can't drop money can I and items are not the problem you can get them back from two stupid bandits you kill with a gun you find by the pda. Like I said the 1.503 patch was supposed to fix this:

'Added the ability to recover belongings after a robbery in the basement at the landfill. At the entrance/exit to landfill now only some money is confiscated'

I hope I understood you correctly but the patch notes refers to the items, meaning you still lose your cash but now with the patch it's possible to get your items back from the bandits.

EDIT: This is also why a few early reviews mentioned that they lost all their equipment in a certain place since the build they reviewed was either 1.5.000 or 1.5.001 and not 1.5.003.

What's the list of changes for the realism mod, does it fix the spanning of grenades and reduces the accuracy of grenades in enemies?

The whole sharper package already has the fix included.

I think that's just a bad translation actually - you only loose your money but can recover your equipment, sorry but it's a pretty annoying encounter.
(Same with normal robberies and if you shot the robbers before they approach you'll make enemies with the Bandit faction and thus you can no longer join them.)

EDIT: Could be a bug though, haven't checked the script but it might be possible to alter it so they only take a set sum instead of all your money.

How can it be a bad translation, if they didn't change anything about the money they wouldn't mention the money at all, before the patch you would loose all your money and people were bitching about it and they fixed it, apart from me apparently.

Perhaps I misunderstood you after all, you're talking of what happens when you get near a certain group of bandits aren't you?

If so I think they're only meant to take a fixed amount of cash and not everything but I'll have to check the scripts to be sure.

I'm talking about he specific quest when you get mugged of everything not group of bandits, I didn't even know you can make friends with them they shoot me on sight when they see me.

Then perhaps it's a bug, don't worry about the other bandits and just shoot them, they're a sucky faction anyway.
(MP5 and sawn-off's with a few of them carrying ToZ-34 shotguns.)

That link is a bit unclear though but so is the actual changelog.

As far as I understood it...

In patch 1.5.001 (English retail) and 1.5.000 (Russian retail) you also lost everything but you did NOT get a quest update to "redeem" (Quest is called redemption in the scripts.) yourself and get your stuff back.

GSC received a lot of complaints from the Russian community (Probably playtesters and reviewers though as it was a launch day update.) and altered this with patch 1.5.003 so that you could get your equipment back, however you still loose all your money as GSC didn't alter that part. (This appear to still be like that in 1.5.004 based on recent posts complaining about this on the official forums.)

So the changelog isn't fully "accurate" or well written but now the bandits take all your gear but you can get it back rather fast so in effect you only loose your money.
(Making it so the bandits only took your money.)


That's how I understood it at least but I could be wrong, sorry if I was bad at explaining this before. Smile

Thanks for the effort, like I said I will probably buy an armor I have 28.000 and was pissed when I was bleeding to death and wanted to buy a simple bandage from a fellow stalker nearby only to get the message 'out of money' then I realized when and how I lost it, luckily I always save before the shit goes down especially in stalker, you have to tread carefully not only because of radiation and monsters but the scariest monster of them all, bugs. Well in this case it's a half-bug supposed to be fixed but apparently not, can't even trust the damn changelogs anymore.

Well this robbing business is simply stupid. This is not Quake or some other arcade FPS where it's just the biggest gun that matters and you get them for free anway. In Stalker you spend a lot of time in acquiring items & money. FFS I had almost 100k since I must have spent 10 hours on hunting for artifacts which is very frustrating now. I bought and upgraded as much equipment as I could but still after I sold it back I lost about 50% of my cash.

Stupid plot twist.

i fixed the cash losing problem by editing a file and changing the value for bandages to 500000. ahem. a bit overkill, since i had about 40 of them.. but it eased a bit the trauma of getting robbed Smile

You are sissy, this game is meant to be hard and brutal on the player, throw you everything to piss you off, and you can also often find a way to abuse the game yourself, and that is legal. Modifying files or using programs to cheat is pretty gay though. I guess most of you don't remember back then on the NES games how impossible and hard it was? This game is one of the rare who try to return to this way of thinking since a while, and that's what make it great.

very true. the game would be crap if u cheated. i know from cheating on the first game cus i couldnt get into it. playing it again now tho, didnt get very far last time.

Installed those and now the damn game is in French and I can't figure out how to change the language!

Edit: Fixed it, G:\Games\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Clear Sky\gamedata\configs\localization.ltx

Enhances Lighting, Depth of Field Blur and keeps Framerate at very playable levels,
(if you have a decent graphics card- an ATI 3870 or 8800gt or equivalent).
This is designed for Windows XP using DX9 settings and using the latest 1.5.04 patch, however may still
work with DX10 Vista users and earlier patches, BUT NOT TESTED.
When I first played S.T.A.L.K.E.R ClearSky, I found the visuals amazing, but some of the new graphics features
such as Depth of Field / Distance Blur to be a little conservative, so these have been tweaked to look more like Gothic 3.
Three variation have been included- High, Medium and Low.

This 'mod' is a simple 'user.lxt file' that adusts visual settings to enhance lighting and DOF to make the game appear clearer without affecting frame-rates, which I'm sure you would all like to hang on to! Strictly speaking its not a 'mod', more 'tweaked settings' to get the best visual impact.

This mod should give-

* Brighter clearer lighting and darker shadows, and includes sun-shafts/ 'god rays'.
* Better depth of field Blur
* Better FRAMERATES as compared to Enhanced Full Dynamic lighting at 'High' preset (about 15fps more- see the screen shots!)
