isnt it Deutschland (sp?)...not german, if we are being technical and all? I could be wrong tho. But i know thats how the germans had germany written on various uniforms during the olympics

which brings me to another question (maybe you can answer this lutz). how does deutschland or whatever the correct spelling is, translate into German in english?

Like take the Netherlands...isnt it Nederlands? and Brazil is Brasil right? easy to see the english translation and its not that different in terms of sound and pronunciation.

didnt we have that discussion already, syco? Very Happy

and since he was only referring to the language setting, he is absolutely right about saying "in german". But the .de. in the youtube redirector is referring to de.utschland

and there are alot of different names for germany in other countries:

Ugh, I hate when people post links to YouTube with some strange language. Then somehow it sticks and I have to change the language back to English... Would it hurt not to copy the two letters of the language? Rolling Eyes

I tried standing at a danish sausagewagon(that's directly translated and it sounds stupid) where some americans were trying out some hotdogs. They were like orgasmic and said they never tasted any fastfood like it. It's pretty damn good after a night in the town!

the only good sauerkraut ive had is when i get it from an actual german bakery/deli/market. There's one not to far from my house. They sell all sorts of different kinds of food (italian, hungarian, swiss, etc) but they specialize in german cause the owner and his wife are german.

But dude, if you get any other type of sauerkraut, it tastes like fuckin shit. Atleast here in Canada and the US. You gotta get the homemade stuff from the delis and shit if you want good eating.

"cheap" german saurkraut is better than premium canadian saurkraut dude. no doubt about it.

We do that to alot of dishes because Canada is so multi-cultural. Like you can buy calamarie at most resturants but its crap. If you want good calamarie, you go to a west indian store and you buy all the stuff from there.
Same goes with patties. We have "Jamaican" patties sold everywhere, but they arent real patties. I have a Jamaican corner store/grocery store about a 20 minute walk from my house and the guy makes his own patties. Fuck, for 2 dollars you get a patties the size of both your hands, packed with meat and hot spices and a huge piece of coco bread...fuck that shit is good when your stoned or hungover man.
If you ever come here, i'll bring you to this place, awesome jamaican food...if you like west indian food that is. I love it. Smile

Actually, I like mixing. Having you know some saurkraut with some hungarian or italian cold cuts and a patty and coco bread on the side.

But in Canada, you cant go to our local grocery stores to get the good stuff. You have to go to the privately owned places and small shops to get the homemade premium stuff you know?

i did a bit of research for you, syco.
it looks like the words "germany" and "german" come from the word "germane" or "germanen" which translates in teuton in englisch (although we have another word for that)

"deutsch" seems to originate from the word "diutisk" which is old high german (what an ugly word... althochdeutsch) for "those who speak the tribes language"

and "deutschland" is simply a composition of "deutsch" (german) and "land" (land, nation. obviously...)

i hope i made this a little bit clearer for you Smile

Ive always admired modern germany. to go from hitler and his evil regime to a democratic, prosperous power is amazing.

You know whats funny tho? Alot of americans (obviously not all and especially not the ones here at Nforce) think germans are still nazi's....retarded.

i personally don't think it's so funny but there's no way to change that, sadly.
maybe one day we stop being the bad guys. i sure hope so.
it's not like we've been sitting on our asses since then, we've been contributing to world economy, security, whole bunch of things - but then again most people acknowledge that and those who still think we're the bad guys are most like some hill-billy retards anyway, so who gives a big F about them? ^^

Oh, he is indeed German. Just found out on his website. ^^
Always thought he is from Canada or something. Razz
Then he must be a good friend of Captain Cox, because he lives in the same town. Very Happy
(Although Cpt. Cox is a Swede in Germany speaking English... Laughing )
But I get your point now. ^^
