Does anybody new if there are any subtitles available for Half Life: Source?
The Options Menu doesn't show any.

HL1 source isn't even connected to Steam. You only need a Steam account if you wan't to play HL2 deathmatch or CS:Source online.

Yes there is a gcf available. Look around and you'll find it. Works better than the extracted imo.

There is nothing different between the gcf and the packed one, except the client.dll fix which is applied in my release.

ok, half-life source has been out as long as Half-Life 2 has and was probably finished ages before
its just a 700mb-ish gcf file, all you need to run it is that file and a shortcut to it with the correct commands.
there doesnt need to an official scene release as it doesnt need to be cracked, you just need someone to make it available for download.
you can just get it from a p2p, its only about 280mb once its in a rar file
hopefully a release will appear on nforce, all you need to do is take the gcf and rar it, including some simple instructions on how to get it working. but anyone could figure that out, which is why it probably hasnt been done yet
and why are people complaining about it? being a waste of time/money?
if you love Half-Life and want to replay it, then theres Half-Life Source for some improved physics. ok so its not as good as it could have been - they should have put the effort in and improved the textures, but i guess we'll have to leave it to the fans to mod it.
and the thing in pixdas avatar is batman fighting a shark on the bottom of a rope ladder hanging from a helicopter. hes about to blow up the shark with his shark repellent bat spray

or just get the collector's edition it includes everything...
btw that axpi rls would be nuked anywayz by stealing cracks etc, they didnt do shit on the hl1 source.. they just unpacked, stole crack, rarred and rlsed it as their own.. with doing nothing.. oh well nobody cares but i dont care about u!

Put the folders in your x:\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\your-email\half-life 2. Make a shortcut of hl2.exe and put this in the Target: -applaunch 220 -game hl1 -steam
It would be like this: "x:\Valve\Steam\Steam.exe" -applaunch 220 -game hl1 -steam
Run the shortcut and play.
If you get a gameinfo error do this:
Make a textfile and copy 'n past this:
Code: | "GameInfo"
{
FileSystem
{
SteamAppId 280 // This will mount all the GCFs we need (240=CS:S, 220=HL2).
//
// The code that loads this file automatically does a few things here:
//
// 1. For each "Game" search path, it adds a "GameBin" path, in <dir>\bin
// 2. For each "Game" search path, it adds another "Game" path in front of it with _<langage> at the end.
// For example: c:\hl2\cstrike on a french machine would get a c:\hl2\cstrike_french path added to it.
// 3. For the first "Game" search path, it adds a search path called "MOD".
// 4. For the first "Game" search path, it adds a search path called "DEFAULT_WRITE_PATH".
//
//
// Search paths are relative to the base directory, which is where hl2.exe is found.
//
// |gameinfo_path| points at the directory where gameinfo.txt is.
// We always want to mount that directory relative to gameinfo.txt, so
// people can mount stuff in c:\mymod, and the main game resources are in
// someplace like c:\program files\valve\steam\steamapps\half-life 2.
//
SearchPaths
{
Game |gameinfo_path|.
Game hl2
}
}
} |
Save it as All Files and put it in /hl1 folder

I've been wanting to replay Half-Life for a long time. Whats the best way to do it? Half-Life HD? Source? Black Mesa looks great, but that doesn't seem like it will be ever finished.

Black Mesa with On a Rail Uncut and Surface Tension Uncut. It's the best experience as long as you don't mind that Xen still isn't in the game, and probably won't be until they release their retail version.

hl 1 source is still definitive due to xen and authenticity of course.
black mesa needs to be complete,and with drastically improved surface tension and on the rail, before it can become a true version.

HL1 retail with something like http://hl.gamebanana.com/skins/29335
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
