Well. Now i can join the ranks.
Our Xbox 360 died. The modified one anyway. My son has a newer model that hasn't been touched and works fine.
Now, i have 2 questions for anyone who may know.
The error I am getting is the e-74 and 1 red light.
However, if I just want to purchase a new console. . . is there any way to get MS to let me download any of the content I bought on my old dead console for the new one? i bought several Rockband songs and a few arcade games. I have been trying to google this all day. i am no google expert by any means. Figured it would be easier to ask here as i am sure someone else has been through this.
My old console was never banned from LIVE.

My Xbox 360 is fixed. Found a guy here locally that has the equipment to professionally reflow the solder. He does Xbox 360's.
Said he had done over 80 of them and had never had a return except for 1. The 1 was redone and he never got it back again. Guarantees his work for 30 days. If it fails, he tries to refix it but gives money back. After 30 days, he guarantees the work for the life of the console. Cost me 30 bucks.
Dropped it off with him for about 3 hours. Works like new again. he also went through it and replaced the thermal paste and clamps with stainless steel clamps.
If anyone lives in the US and would like their problem with their Xbox 360's fixed, I can vouch for the guy's work. Here is his Ebay store link:

No. he used a reflow/rework station.
You can read about it on the link above. He shows pictures of the machine, tells the brand of it, and tells about the process.
He basically went through the board and reflowed every chip then replaced the xclamps with stainless steel ones that he apparently fabricates (assumption on my part).
