Does anybody here know a good MMORPG game other than UO that has free public servers? And I don't mean the servers made by the game's creators, I mean the servers made by the people who want to play it for free. If you have any information, how about sharing them with all of us?

The older clients are not illegal, but all the old links to them seem to be dead.

I have to say that coming from WoW to Lineage 2 really is very different..
I actually tought Lineage 2 was horrible, the graphics were quite bad (if you compare to WoW) and I tought L2 would have greater graphics. Yeah, I know the graphics aren't exactly the same but they were so plain, so.. ordinary and flat..
Almost everything in L2 was horrible compared to WoW (gameplay wise)
In the beginning I didn't know what to do but to kill a buch of identicall monsters over and over again, then aimlessly traveling away from the starting area to where I got to a town in which I couldn't get a single quest until I was lvl 5. Even so, the game was boring..  I really wanted it to be fun.
I was gonna try Everquest II aswell but there doesn't seem to be a free trial for it.
I've played UO for three months, it was great  Lots of fun, insane amounts of items =) |
Man.... you are so right, it's like you took the words out of my mouth and posted them here 
I used to beta test Lineage 2 and i thought it was ok, till the point where i get sick of the mindless farming for gear, as there are not nearly enough quests to keep one entertained. Man did WoW open my eyes once i started playing it, like going from MMORPG hell to heaven |
