Just as Grand Theft Auto IV prepares to kick off the hooker-beating season, we hear that publisher Rockstar has plenty of other projects in the works. Max Payne 3 and Red Dead Revolver 2 are headed to both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, as is the previously PS3-only gumshoe adventure L.A. Noire.

Ewww, Rockstar needs to stop being such console fags. However, I doubt Max Payne will be any good without Remedy anyway.

I'm just wondersing if it comes out how they gonna benefit from the multithreading enviroment, cause as far as I remember the trailer from 2005(or later) mentioned about supporting 4 cores already. Sure would like to see some updated specs! Cool

But anyway, I hope it will not last as long as DNF does...

Isn't Remedy co-developing together with R*? It says so on their website, although there's absolutely nothing new to see on their site.

Two weeks to the trailer???

Quote:

According to this Pelaaja report, Remedy is to show a new trailer for Alan Wake at the premiere of the Max Payne movie in Finland on October 15.

No idea if this is true or not. Remedy’s based in Finland. We’re just checking with the one Finnish contact we have to see if he can flesh this out at all, so when he gets back we’ll let you know.

EDIT: Seems more than a rumor:

Quote:

A Finnish source has told VG247 this morning that a Pelaaja story claiming a new Alan Wake trailer is to be shown at the Finnish premiere of the Max Payne movie is “100 percent true”.

We’ve also been told that Pelaaja is to publish more on the game this Friday.

The Max Payne movie is to be shown in Finland for the first time on October 15.

As soon as we know more, we’ll let you know.

Hmh, the local theater here (in Finland) lists the premiere on the 10th already. Anyway they damn better show the trailer too, since the news only mentioned another chain of movie theaters that don't have a theater in my city. Razz

I actually hope this will NOT become an action 3rd Person Shooter like Max Payne.
I am thinking of driving around in the environment, doing some missions that are more like Stealth or whatever. Still don't know what this game is actually about though... Razz
Maybe add a bit (but only a BIT) horror to the game but please don't ruin the game by making another Max Payne or Serious Sam. Laughing
So hopes high for the upcoming trailer. ^^

I only know alan wake is a horror game. But since it was announced like back in 2005 we've only seen some tech demos not some real gameplay clips. For the time it's been in development that's bullshit. I don't want a new trailer of the game i want some gameplay.

Umm no, I think it's billed as 'psychological thriller action' or something like that. Whereas Max Payne of course was a pure shooter.

I think the enemies (=monsters) also respond to light sources, ie. you need to use your flashlight against them.

short question: this thing is still alive? kinda thought it had gone the way of vaporware by now - which would be sad, the story and overall feel (as much as you could get from what we've seen so far) seemed really, really cool

i will never understand why people first so eagerly WANT a game and then as soon as the wait is longer than their attention-span, they begin calling it names and pestering others with their over-exaggerated negative opinions.

Learn to wait damnit. Its like little kids who cry, because they cant get their candy now.

And publishers and producers stopped giving out information about progress, because of this whining-fits of internet-kids.
You ll know that the game will be released when they start giving out info again (usually half a year later, slowly ramping up the infos in the media, so the advertisement will hit a peak shortly before release...).

good games take time. Look at how long the orignal max payne took (there was an ad for it already in 97 in one of the first 3d benchmarks called final reality): about 4 years. If they take as long for alan wake, it should be 2009, which perfectly fits for me.

Max Payne was sure one incredible shooter that I still enjoy playing until now , but for the time it took to develop , it was short
but it was back then , now if a game takes this long it has to be long enough and worth it
thing is they're beginning from scratch that means everything you saw about the game is invalid now, we don't know what to expect
and yes it's not a bad thing to feel disappointed when a game gets delayed 10 times over the years
I mean C'mon all these delays , it gets ridiculous , you've been waiting to get a game for over 3 years the last thing you want is another delay , they should get their shit together in the first place
sure the world doesn't end but that's not the point
