If your an informed consumer, the price for PC's ends up being only a small amount more then a console would cost considering their accessories and televisions to view them on, and the higher price of the games. I don't mention Crysis based on the quality of its gameplay, but the technical specs it requires as a benchmark for future games over the next 6 months to a year. The fact that only Crysis is used as a benchmark is really just an example of how consoles are affecting PC games and graphical development on the platform
I guess my point is that consoles are not "cheaper" then PC's when they come out, in reality your going to save a few hundred dollars for a machine that has only one main use, and over time your going to buy 1-3 more controllers, memory cards, cables, and $60 games...it ends up costing you about the same. Over time, consoles become a better buy, and Xbox 360 is at that point, but then as you mention with PC's, the same goes for consoles, the cycle starts over again.

These dev's and publishers can spin the piracy BS all they want. Piracy has been around for a very long time in the pc market even during the floppy disk days, heck even during the VHS days also but cassettes still sold, same goes for music.
My view of this situation is that its plain and simple, it's just all about churning something out and making a quick buck and a fast return with as little as much effort as possible, hence making games for consoles. Let's face it, it's EASIER to develop a game on a console system than a PC, its always been like that since days of nintendo.
I think whats really killing PC gaming is ironically its own hardware. Technology has changed so much in this market now more than ever, before it was somewhat small steps(from 486's to pentiums) but now its just to fast. I mean with the latest advances and technology in graphics cards to multi core processing and directx10 which from what i understand is a bitch to program in, games for windows live crap etc.
It's much more complicated developing on pc's now more than ever and takes much more work effort. The development times are longer and much more expensive and takes more manpower and experience rather that just an amateur team of developers. So they just go the easy route and make console games and blame the piracy spin to cover themselves.
which all falls back to the original statements that others have said in previos posts its just a quick cash-in.

that stateman is bullshit, i dont know why they dont say "we launch the game first on console because the console want to get the exclusive"
Anyway, the only game on console who got delayed about 5 month to pc is the GTAIV (and others exclusive console titles like GOW)
The rest the delay is about 2 weeks ¿this is one of those?
About the piracy on PC i speak for my self,i pirate games but if the games is a good one i buy it with out think.
But games like Alone in the dark, with the amount of bugs and it has "no support" that gave the warrants because of piracy on pc, there are many games that not even deserve to be buy it. For the simple fact of not giving support until they have innumerable amount of bugs and even games that are developed completely wrong with bad ideas implemented, or shitie ports.
It's just the easy excuse and a good pair of titles are coming with that excuse
Anyway is a shitie game, is the remake of the another one (i dont remember the titile but is from the same dev) (i hope is not the one u can play with an aeroplane)

Buying games against the prices they charge without the possibility to return it if the quality is not of desirable standing is just plain theft. When consumers are given another way to try out new products, they will.
If something is worth your money, you'll be glad to pay it, it's that simple. I bought Clear Sky, I liked it, even though the MP sucks wich is a strong selling point for any game of decent quality these days. Why? SP is nice and the ability for modders to make fun mods is awesome.
And Ubisoft vs Piracy not deliving out a game for PC? Look at Band of Brothers, you can even play online without a key right now...

thats not entirely accurate man. I have a good amount of disposable income. So when a game comes out that i really enjoy, i buy it.
take mass effect, i beat the game 2 times and then went out and bought (for PC). Just because i figured fuck, i enjoyed it so much, i want the support and stuff you get with legit versions.
i buy many games, pc/360/ps3. but i only buy games i know im going to either really enjoy or have fun playing multiple times. |

Sadly we'll never have such a tactical game again. RS6 was so fuckin hard before they went to shit. But it was so satisfying taking your time not to get shot. The only good thing about the new GR's is they still don't have that bullshit hide to regen health shit |

I know a lot of people who buy pc games WHEN they are full of decent content , have decent graphics , have decent online play ,otherwise what are they spending there money for ?
If you buy a mars bar you expect it to be a mars bar you dont expect to peel back the wrapper and find out its a cheap supermarket substitute you expect to get what is advertised and what is paid for.
Pc piracy has grown over the years due to pc's becoming more affordable and the internet , users are now able to view what the game is actually like rather than read about it in a magazine and look at some touched up screenshots which is what game developers want because then you have to buy the game to find out its crap ,complete lack of demos anyone ? i remember when games were good, demos were on every magazine cover.
Isnt it enough that we have to spend a large amount of money upgradeing our equiptment every 5 minutes to be able to try their wares that they have to rape the end user on gameplay and game price.
Let these retards cut all pc developpment , no seriously let them , let them concentrate on consoles , then all the serious gamers can sit back and watch them get raped to death by the "kiddies" who love to download games. Thats when the shit will hit the fan.
Oh and Crysis was a steaming turd.

and you keep pirate "the hell and back" every game you could.
you need to understand,
companies will not make an expensive games
just that you can pirate it and play it for free.
