Travelers or Techs.. Haven't decided yet! It was pre-upgrade that I looked at the factions because to be honest, I thought the game was dying Sad!

Still, this is good news, I really hope the game works out how I hope!

Thanks for the tip, registered and started downloading before going to bed last night =)
Installing updates now and gonna give the game a try.

Edit: having to download a 763MB patch directly after downloading a 4,3GB client just seem wrong somehow.

Alpha testing is the first round of testing, so anything goes Smile

It didn't crash on startup, so all is good. I'm not downloading this, lol

You must mean beta. Alpha is before beta where most game-features are still locked/being-developed and alpha testing is supposed to be a way to TEST how those features manage to integrate into the full game. After that comes the beta, where they supposedly fix bugs (not many MMO developers seem to realize this simple truth:roll:) and lastly they make a few stress tests where they finaize the servers' configs for the release (sometimes diguised as "open betas").

Oh I'm sure they know that Beta is supposed to be when they fix bugs - but the ones who pay for the development tend to get anoyed that they keep on pumping cash into their projects but it never seem to finish.

It seems to be a single-company development, so they might not have a publisher company panting down their necks (haven't really looked into it, but I only see Icarus as the only company mentioned).

Funny thing is that the game even at this stage has more Fallout feeling than all the FO3 movies/screenshots combined.

I know very well the differences in Alpha and Beta testing as i've done both before, just because it's in alpha usually doesnt mean it's 100% unplayable.
Even the WoW alpha on pirate servers back in the days worked better than this and that's saying alot.

What exactly? You dont need to spend your time in threads about a game you decided to not like long before. Just leave and come back grown.

** PLEASE READ **

I just want to add that as this is an alpha test NDA's are in place and those people who got keys are bound by them. Of course this forum isn't exactly the place to be moaning about such things but I ask that people do abide by the rules of the NDA out of respect for the developers.

Lets try and keep the thread clean guys, of course, nothing I have wrote here will be enforced using my mod status. Its your choice to make.
