Basically yes. It has got great multilayer. Single sucks due to respawning enemies.
However, the sniper mission is state of the art... can compare to masterpieces like Omaha Beach in the first MoH.
It's just well-made. The story is cinematic and the graphics are first-rate. Multiple playthroughs aren't as fun, but the first time I played the Single Player i loved it. It was exciting, thrilling, and intense. The multiplayer was fun and revolutionary because of weapon upgrades and perks.
out of 70 reviews, only 4 are below 90%. That should tell you that the majority of gamers think it is an excellent game. Best game ever? hardly, but certainly well-made and worthy of recognition.
Pretty much the same as COD4, tbh, which isn't a bad thing. Maps might be a bit better, though it's hard to say after having only played for about 40 minutes. I do prefer the dogs to the chopper though, feels a bit more fair that you don't just get killed all the sudden, you've got a chance to defend yourself here.
Doesn't feel as new as COD4, obviously, but will most likely be a good game.
Is this like the Bad Company beta where all the key does is give you a client download? Because you could just burn Bad Company to a disc to share it with friends.
Someone should rip the beta off of their HDD for us.
I didnt read at all on that game cause at first, it was tagged by beeing in the Pacific and i hated that theater...but when i joined a server, i was quite surprise to see that i was a German fighting the filthy russians.
Oh and i love the way they changed the chopper for rabid dogs...

Great, CoD 4 fanboys.. I asked why it's so great, not for more people saying it's great.
why don't you play it and stop asking others to justify their opinions.

I never said it was a bad game, just that IMO the gameplay is shallow. I did buy it and enjoy it, but I will probably never play it again.
In my opinion it was the game of that year!
Iti´s not especially different, or revolutionary...
It just made me playing from start to finish like no oher game.
And honestly I can´t even remember when was the last time that I played a game that felt as good as cod4.

With comments like these it's a wonder if you've even played the game or not. Why should we spend time and effort justifying something to someone who doesn't even know what he's talking about? ;P
Great things about CoD4:
- Not only are the graphics up there with the best, the game NEVER suffers for it. The frames per second remain solid at all times. That's a huge achievement.
- The game is fluid as fuck. It always runs smooth no matter what. And I'm not just talking about frames per second. The gameplay itself is always smooth. Your character is never stuck, frozen, choppy, delayed, paused, or playing a slow animation of any kind. Every movement, every gesture, every action all flows with perfection. This is probably CoD4's greatest strength.
- The single player is varied, excellently written, and very well delivered. The only complaint people have is it's too short, which means the game was a blast and they want more. "Run and gun?" Hardly. I'd like to see you even try. Maybe, if you've even played it, you shouldn't have the difficulty on the lowest setting. Try running and gunning the airplane mission on the hardest setting and see how far you get. Some noticeable levels that stand out (as examples of variation that keep the pace perfect) are the sniper and gunship levels. The experience and delivery of single player is second to none.
- Multiplayer CANNOT be beat. The netcode is as good as it gets. The automatch, get into the action system is not new, but it works flawlessly. The gameplay always runs great and everything is as it should be. The weapons are fine, the maps are great, and as mentioned before, the fluidity of the gameplay cannot be matched.
- Feats. Not a new idea but with flawless execution. They add tremendous variation and they cater to pretty much anything you feel like doing. Martyr, last stand, are popular choices. Just the ability to "level" up through your ranks, unlocking things as you go, in the way that they did it, is un-paralleled. Again, not a new idea, but they've executed their system with such perfection, they didn't get a single thing wrong with this game's mechanics.
I can keep going, but why should I for someone who I doubt has even played the game with comments like yours. If you honestly HAVE played the game, you need to play past the title screen this time, even the training mission is a fun challenge. You need to play this game for more than 5 minutes. Go on, we're not stopping you. Go, go, go!

Heh, I'm not too worried about it, Bad Company beta was almost a year ago now. I think I'm safe, and I'm not modded anyway (too lazy to solder a switch onto the board for the VAD6038 drive mod)
Thank you, all I asked for (although the comments about me not having played the game were quite unneccesary). I have played the game, did for weeks straight. Then it got boring as hell, for me atleast. You have to admit that the singleplayer is very weak though, maybe not the story and everthing, but the gameplay isn't made for singleplayer.
Someone make m e laugh and you get this beta key... I am sick as fuck today and need some cheering up!!!
