this protection will notl work
it seems that the pual.dl
is the weak point of this DRM
and people will just "edit" this file and crack this game.

Hey There,
Let me clarify that, we are not using a system as draconian as that.
FC2 come with a newer version of SecuROM, providing a “revoke” system.
Basically you can install your game on 3 machines 5 times.
Each time you go through a complete uninstall process, you’ll be granted another install.
This will give you almost an unlimited numbers of install.
So if your computer crash and you install the game again, you’ll be left with 4 installations and so on.
If you are really unlucky, or have troubles you can always contact our support team, and they will be able to grant you with new installations.
You’ll never be left without being able to play a game you buy.

This might sound stupid, but what is considered a machine by their standards?
I'm thinking of getting a new MB soon; assuming I install the game in my current system, the game will probably consider that it is a different machine( that's 2 machines now ). Later, when I jump in the Nehalem/AMDK? bandwagon, new MB.
That makes it 3 machines, total; from there on any MB upgrade I do will not let me play this game, assuming that Ubisoft will never completely remove the protection?
Is this correct?
BTW, where is that benchmark tool Ubisoft?

I think you misunderstood.
It's 5 installs per machine; you get back an installation if you uninstall the game, true; but if the game considers you that you're running it on a different machine, after three machine changes ( whatever that is, that was my original question ), it will refuse to let you install/play it no matter how much installs you did not use with the previous machines.
...right?

When I read the first part of the post saying it would use install limit I instantly said to myself, well guess that's one less game I am buying. However, if it does have a system where you get your installs back by uninstalling ... I can live with that.
