In addition, we have also upgraded the emulator's capabilities and as a result the game runs even FASTER than our previous release. As a result, you can expect even better gameplay, and shorter loading times.

Does this means that when you play (aka run arround) the game runs faster, or does it just mean that it has faster loading times?

It's a bit cryptic Confused

It means what it says, better framerates when playing (ie running around) and faster loading. I personally doubt this but that is what it means Smile

Please note that the previous release DOES work, if you have your internet connection active and your firewalls off.

Isn't the offline installer for the cd version supposed to do the same thing? At least the nfo says so.

yes. this release is not supposed to be a repack that fixes this issue primarily, but to increase overall performance and of course being a dvd Smile

It should be given the MOST Releases AWARD.
What was it ? like 5 EMPORIO rlses + 201 Fixes then some 3rd world groups releases which makes it like +10 and yea, more fixes.
and now 2 more VNGS rlses...
Damn its like whats happening to Spider-Man2 Smile

In my wallet.

About Hitman: Movie (2007)
Vin Diesel is a hardcore gamer, and absolutely loves the Hitman series. For that reason I have faith that he wont destroy the movie.

Response: Well, Uwe Boll probably loved the Alone in the Dark games.

Works perfectly.. I can confirm CS:S working fine as well with cracked servers. Framerate for HL2 itself went up by an average of ~2fps over my last test with the 5CD version and the loading times are indeed somewhat faster as well.

Overall, a 5-8fps increase over other versions, faster loading times, proper scene release, cs:s availability and no problems installing or playing (for those with common sense and some intelligence) make this the release to get over anything else including Retail... Get it and play!

Note: Could this be the longest (at least in the games department) .nfo in history? Laughing

Final remark: Thank you VENGEANCE & VALVE (but not for STEAM Evil or Very Mad)!

and a big FUCK YOU to emporio for causing such an enormous mess.
seriously though, patience is a virtue. both vengeance releases work like a charm.
instead of just waiting for a group with actual crackers to release the game, everyone went crazy when emporio ( = newb irc team that hardly even knows how to *pack* their release, let alone *crack* it) brought out their shitty, downloaded trough steam, version. which brought 15.000 fixes with it & a whole lot of bullshit.
sorry for ranting, had to get that off my chest Razz

I too would like a confirmation of this since I can't seem to figure out if I can greate a .gcf of it to work with the first vng release. I wonder why a group just doesn't release the CE DVD.

So if it doesn't then technically this isn't the "retail DVD".

l0newolf: even though this is the best release out there.. you dont have to bash emporio.. they released a good version, even though it needed ONE, yes ONE fix. The proper version doesnt need a fix.. you just need to follow some instructions. At least emporio are capable of cracking more than you. (And it was by the way no other way of releasing hl2 the very same day as official release)

That said, I'm glad we had emporio release a few hours after steam release, and I'm happy we finally have a legit and better release (both CD and DVD).

Enough about that, now talk about the release/game Wink

lol, i knew someone was gonna mention something like "why don't you do it yourself then?".
it must be insanely hard to download the game trough steam & rar up your installation dir. *rolls eyes*
the fix/crack afterwards wasn't even released by them. just some iND guy.
besides, just cause it worked for you doesn't mean it worked for everyone, if you read the emporio thread you'd see what an enormous mess it was.
i have every right to bash emporio, i dislike groups that cause enormous scene chaos ( = not using scene standards, they're there for a reason you know) just so they can take credit for releasing a popular game.

i didn't even download the emporio release, it's the principle of things. (ofcourse i followed every forum etc to read how annoyed 99% of the people were)

what i'm saying is, they should have just done NOTHING.
everything would have been fine besides the usual whining "when is it gonna be out?!".
PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE.

You are such an asshole EMPORiO was the first one to release CS Source fully fonctional and they were the first to release HL2 that needed 1 fix....VENGEANCE released HL2 nearly 2 weeks after so if it wasnt from EMPORiO there will be a shit load of threads such as "wheres HL2", "why HL2 is not released", "Scene groups sucks cause they cant release a game", "Wheres reloaded when we need them" and other pointless shit like that.

So STFU...its FREE and respect people for their works.

EMPORiO fully screwed STEAM right up the ass to the throat leaving Gabe Newell mad as fuck for days.

Bitch all you want about Emporio - we can use all of the dedicated crackers out there. Everyone was a noob once and I'll wager you haven't even attempted to release a game so there is little room to criticize.

wow people bitching about empororio... you people are such assholes. they tried to give you a release of one of the best games ever, and an extremely timely one at that. Sure there were a few problems, but nothing unsolvable... Go fucking rip a game with protection as complex as half life 2's by yourself you asshat.

And if you don't like the release? GO FUCKING BUY THE GAME. people like you make everyone else look bad.

No, it does not include HL:Source
Yes, it is the retail DVD.
I think you are confusing Retail DVD with Collectors edition.
The standard HL2 edition (availible as CD or DVD version) does not include HL:Source, only the Collectors edition (availibly on DVD only (I think) ) does.

So far vengeance has released the standard edition CD version and the standard edition DVD version.

Anyway, HL:Source isn't worth the download.
It looks exactely like the old HL. Yes, it's the source engine, but they used the old moddels and old textures, so you can't see any difference.

The only change is the physics from the source engine, so you can toss around boxes and knock barrels over but except for that, it's 100% identical to the original HL.
Downloading it is a waist of time.

Here in the US I haven't seen a standard DVD, just the CE DVD. And I already have HL source, just no way to add it to this DVD cause I have no clue how to make a gcf.

EDIT: Just found the gcf for HL Source on usenet. Now if i can add it to a cab on the Veng DVD. Smile

I've checked that again and I can't find it in the US either, but the standard edition DVD is availible in the UK (and probably whole Europe).
It is identical to the 5CD standard edition.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00009ATWC/qid=1101875089/ref=pd_ka_0/202-2300200-0973420

As for adding it to the DVD, you could extract the image with ISO-buster (or a simmilar tool) and directely burn the files.
That way you could put the HL:Source Files on the DVD as well (in a seperate directory), but of course you'd still have to install it seperately with it's own installer.

If you want to integrate it in the HL2 installer, I can't help you. That would require heavy modifications of the installer.
