Well I'm not the one claiming something there's no proof of in any firmware nfo.
Did you actually try to boot a correctly stealth patched game that was burned with a DVD+R DL booktype on a Verb and iXtreme didn't accept it? That's the only way to find out what's fact.
It would be strange if C4EVA removed the bookytpe overwrite patch again for iXtreme.

At the bottom right is an option for "Change Booktype". Some burners will automatically set it to DVD-ROM, but if not, you must set "Drive (for DVD+R DL Media)" to DVD-ROM. Otherwise, the xbox will recognize it as a burnt disc.
Also, be sure to burn the .dvd file and not the .iso (if that's not an option: go into imgburn settings (Tools>Settings), click on the "Write" tab, and type "1913760" for the user specified Layer Break).
Oh, and you'll obviously need a hacked firmware installed on the xbox. For info on that, use Textbook's tutorial: http://www.360mods.net/Downloads/details/id=61.html .
