what are the connotations of installing the clonecd version, and then installing the steam version on release? im worried about it messing up my cdkey or something for MP

Yup .
Console editor option are poor and are just for MP too .
Disable vegetation ,lod detail , set nextmap etc etc.

The devs made it very clear that everything in this game happens in first-person so as to keep the player fully immersed in the experience.

A Ubisoft forum manager outlined Far Cry 2's DRM (Digital Rights Management) system and it seems that it will be one of most well behaving DRM systems of all time.
- You have 5 activations on 3 separate PCs.
- Uninstalling the game "refunds" an activation. This process is called "revoke", so as long as you complete proper uninstall you will be able to install the game an unlimited number of times on 3 systems.
- You can upgrade your computer as many time as you want (using our revoke system)
- Ubisoft is committed to the support of our games, and additional activations can be provided.
- Ubisoft is committed to the long term support of our games: you’ll always be able to play Far Cry 2.
The main difference between Far Cry 2's DRM and Spore's is the ability to revoke your activation when you uninstall the game, thus allowing you to reinstall it on any other PC.

Because the shadow maps are really high res and most of the textures are as well. The only thing I see changing in the single players graphics is the addition of HDR and maybe shadow culling distance. Maybe a step higher textures.
But who knows.

the trees look a bit rubbery. and the rest ain't very attractive either.
but the videos look good, so i'll assume this is one of those cases where you gotta see it in motion.
hopefully the game's gonna be good enough to be able to overlook the graphics, if it's not one of those cases.

It's still plagued by console-fication. The textures just aren't very up to par. If they were higher-resolution for the PC - The game would look tons better.

wow,just been playing with the map editor on PC . the map editor is going to redefine the way developers make editors, its criminally simplistic, but its main flaw is it's best asset, i can make a small village map with props mounted guns etc etc, at sunset with lovely lighting in 5 mins, the community is going to explode with user made content, this is a COD4 MP beater in terms of content, the possibilites are endless cant wait for retail.
