To stay on topic though, that map editor is pretty fun. Not everything is as destructible as I would like, but the game seems like it'll be fun regardless. Tossing together a dense jungle map and then wondering around in it is awesome fun! If we have some good maps like that for multiplayer, then I'll buy this game as soon as I have the money! Hueg dense jungle combat in the fog and rain? Yes please! |

Because on the map editor, i know u can change the weather effects, but there is no rain on any of that weather effects |
Hmm? Was I wrong? I remember maxing out one slider of the weather effects thing and it giving me rain... I'll have to check again later then.

The .pdf manual says 12 Gigs and the readme says 6 Gigs so something is weird. It's like someone threw together the editor and stuff. Also the readme says copyright November 2008. I would think it would say October. |
There is something strange with this fucking release
Another strange "thing" its when u execute fc2 and put what ever serial and error says
"this appliaction cannot be used until the oficial release date has been reached.Please wait until the oficial release date and restart the appliatio at that time. |
"This is a fake copy just like the one I removed earlier today.If you have downloaded this, make certain you uninstall it and clean your registry. Supposedly it will keep you from installing the full game when it is ready. When it is checked online, you won't be able to play the game"

This screen is on ultra high (my compute cant hundle it, but is for the screenshot)
 
pd: i have an ati (drivers 8.10) strange i hear the rain falling i think....
*edit*pd2: i forgot there is a hot fix (8.10) for far cry 2, maybe is that i forgot to install it. |
Try tossing down some trees and other vegetation. I'm on the 8.10's too, not hotfix, and I remember rain for some reason... Maybe it was just due to the sound of it? I'll have to install the hotfix driver later and check and see if that helps any. Who knows though, no rain might be map editor related. Personally, I know I can't wait to try this game out. I wish I could see how the multiplayer would be though. =( That would be a buying factor for me. I mean sure, the maps could be awesome, but if how they did multiplayer SUCKS, then it wouldn't really be worth it, no?

Ah, I just checked it. No rain. That sucks =/ I guess it was just the combination of heavy vegetation + highest weather setting that made it sound like rain?
Also, I've found an awesome thing to do for a map just to have fun with. Make a map with a huge mountain in the middle, toss down some vegetation all over the map too, glider at top of the hill, then raise the water level so the tops of the trees show through. Toss down lots of explosive barrels on the water, then raise it some (So they fall down into the water). Then toss down a few ships. Spawn where you tossed the glider, glide off the mountain, then take a huge plunge into the water from the skies. Enjoy dodging barrels in the water with the ships. Also, going underwater with vegetation looks pretty damn neat.

I was wondering can you slaughter the wild life in FarCry 2 with your machete, launch a couple of Molotov cocktails, roast the meat on the burning vegetation and replenish your health ?
