Tool will de-activate the current license on the computer contact the activation server to free up the activation, for future use.

Hopefully someone can modify and use that tool to remove activation away... I wish...

You cannot do anything with that tool activation wise apart from revoking licences.

Far Cry 2 Hotfix

According to AMD the Far Cry 2 Hotfix increases the performance of single and multi GPU systems - our driver review conformed that. In addition to Crossfire support in DX9 the Catalyst update also delivers an increased performance on DX10. The performance of the HD4870 on the other hand is drastically reduced and the problems seem to be complex. We are currently checking back with AMD about that.

Quote:

Conclusion

Both drivers are about as fast as the Catalyst 8.10 WHQL, only in Assassin's Creed the performance is a little lower. The fan control isn't working with the Far Cry 2 Hotfix or the "Catalyst 8.10 Hotfix for HD 4650, HD 4550 and HD 4350", although the option is available. The Far Cry 2 Hotfix also causes problems between Far Cry 2 and the Radeon HD 4870 on Vista x64.[

So if you don't plan to run the Africa shooter on a Crossfire system in DX9, you should stay with the 8.9 WHQL. During our tests Far Cry 2 was running faster with this driver than with the Catalyst 8.10 or the two Hotfixes.

Does any of you "non US" guys have experience on online distribution purchases (like D2D or STEAM)?
I'm from Brazil and this game will take ages to arrive to the stores here.
I'm thinking about buying online, but I kinda have mixed feelings about using a Credit Card via a proxy... Is it safe? Has anyone here done it?

d2d works fine and it should be a pretty fast download.
can't see any problems coming from using a proxy. i don't see why they'd care too much about something like that.

It updated both the Catalyst CCC and driver but I don't know what's changed, noticed that rain textures in Stalker: Clear Sky show a few visible artifacts with it but that's pretty minor. (4870 X2 Card.)

If I were to guess there's some minor driver optimizations (And fixes?) plus a early Far Cry 2 profile for the CCC which optimizes performance somewhat.
(Depends on the card, from what I've seen in various comparison tests DX9 shows a pretty big performance improvements on most of the 4xxx series while there's a smaller gain for DX10 but DX10 doesn't differ all that much performance wise from DX9.)

lol i know, me too. Sometimes a change of developers is a good thing. Look at this game compared to crysis, or Guitar Hero 4 compared to Rockband 2.

yeah i agree its a good game and its nice to see a new developer make a improvement from the original, hence movments feel alot like bf2, crank this bad boy up to 64 player map and you could have yourself a new contender for multiplayer, considering the ease of map making Smile, dont know what the hitbox is liek tho so that could spoil it a bit.

Boring list, only Far Cry 2 will be worth playing (or even downloading). Other games you have to watch:
-Saints Row 2
-Fallout 3
-Aliens Colonial Wars

Those are the games!
