The framerate issues in some PS3 games are disgusting, people don't really seem to complain about that yet read almost any review of games which come out on both the PS3 and 360 and they'll mention it.

Personally as long as the slowdowns are minor and don't affect gameplay in anyway I don't care. People accept slowdowns on the PC, even when they spent 5 times as much as a 360 on the hardware and the game doesn't even look as good as the console version. Why is that? It's not unique to the 360 for fucks sake!

The only game i've ever noticed slowdown on was Saints Row, and even that didn't detract from what was a great game.

1UP is reporting that all the heavy hitting football games coming out this year (Madden 08, NCAA Football 08, and All-Pro Football 2K8) will be running best on the Xbox 360. 30 frames smoother to be exact. 1UP says that they've confirmed with developers that the 360 versions of each football game will run at a buttery smooth 60 frames per second while the PS3 version will have to settle for 30 frames per second. What does that mean? Well, it means animations will be smoother, faster and less jarring than the PS3 version.

A friend of mine have had his box since it came out. And he also heard about the overheating problems, he had it on for 36 hours or so, just to check if he got some problem. Still runs problemfree. Seems like you can ble lucky. Iv had no problems so far. Except my flashing (didnt do it myself) worked. So have to flash myself I guess. It can run orginals, so can't be flashed wrong. More like he just opened and did some shit... (bought from qxl; ebay alike place)

Most admit GoW and Cod3 was pretty cool on the 360 Very Happy

Sorry for offtopic.

The site of Finnish mag Pelaaja is about to publish a 50-minute podcast which includes an in-depth chat with Remedy lead writer Sami Järvi on the current state of Alan Wake, why it’s taking so long and a proper confirmation that a new trailer is to be shown in Finland on October 15.

From the podcast:

* The reason it’s taking so long is simply that it’s a small team and building an open world game is very tough. They just want to take their time with it, but it’s definitely making progress.
* The reason for a new trailer is simple. The team mostly came up with it on a whim due to the release Max Payne movie. Also, the company just wanted to show something new on the game.
* Remedy’s using some of its old Rockstar contacts for the title’s development. Navid Khonsari who handled most of the mocap and VO directing in Rockstar’s games prior to GTA4 is apparently working on voice directing.
* Remedy owns the Alan Wake IP, so the firm’s able to take its time with it, though Järvi admits in the interview it’s taking a long time to make. Remedy insists that it’s not that it won’t ever be happy with the game, but the team just wants to make it as good as it can be.

Wow my hype meter just did a flip flop! I totally lost interest in this game because of the lack of new media. But seeing that blurry pic and the possiblity of a trailer has me back at defcon 5. This really could be a stellar title, i just hope Remedy can give a ball park release date at the Max Payne premier. Most of the tech they've show in the past has become common place now so i hope they have some new innovative graphical updates and let us know more about the actual gameplay.

Roll on October 15th Smile

They won't. It's still "When it's done", stated by Sam Lake from the finnish interview. Translated here

A year, at maximum maybe. Two years sounds ludicrous. See below.

Well as Sam Lake states in the interview, you reach a point where further development adds nothing to a game, so no.

We're not talking years to iron out bugs. This is after all a game not coming from the devs of Boiling Point or anything. If you've read the interview you know that when they showed off the game initially it was more of a tech demo or vision. Most of the gameplay was not in place. And that's one of the main things they have been adding over time.

"The longer they delay it the better it gets" is simply not true for most games, as I was trying to point out to you by citing Sam Lake. You reach a point in the development point where you don't add jack basically (for fun reference, see DNF Razz).

problem with such long delays is usually technology changes by the time is ready and then the game has to go back to the drawing board or get abandoned. since the 360 is already 3 years old, I would assume another 2 year might see the next xbox!!!

It's not a long delay. 4-5 years is a normal development time when the developer is creating a game engine from scratch.
