Now that Gears 2 and Dead Space PAL are out there hasn't been a post in the console section for an whole hour....

I'll have to say that I'm not impressed. I've not played much but I just don't like SCI FI games. I do like the menu's and interface mind. As for scary, nah, just gory.
If you like the Quake type futuristic games, you'll love this.

Yup. Played 2 first missions. Damn.

Everything is spot on. It´s like they managed to take whats good from many other games, making it their own. Shoulder view, weapons upgrades (RE4), map (metroid), audio logs (bioshock), time manipulation (PoP, Max Payne, etc), object manipulation (HL2), space/coridors (doom), monsters (silent hill, alien), and so on.

At times my hands were sweating and my heart started to race.

Very, very good game.

Damn, I wasn't expecting anything from this game, I've actually had it a few days and haven't tried it, cos I've been trying to get into Fable 2 ...... but shit I should have started on this first.
I can't remember a game this year that has made me go back again and again, just to do 1 more level .....
Fuck it, I'm gonna back to do 1 last one before work

Played a short bit yesterday, and i must say it really is awesome. Great atmosphere, graphics and sound, very intense. Only thing that bothers me is that so far the things that have happened in the game are kinda obvious Razz

I'm at the end of the third mission and I'm amazed.The graphics is 9.5/10,the atmosphere is 10/10,sound is 10/10 ,the game have very good controls.Gears have serious competition for my time Wink

L0L was it kinda obvious when you were almost raped by that necrohomo when he tried to open the elevator door with no weapons? R0FL the beginning was super awesome. When that necrohomo was storming towards me (weapon less) my heart was pounding out of control haha . Razz

Just gave this a go, and while i only spent 30 minutes on it, i love it. While I knew what i'd be getting with GOW2, and was impressed, this has so far surpassed my expectations. I had my doubts that it might be a bit overhyped ... but it isn't. It's really atmospheric, controls are fantastic, and when I shoot at the aliens, it really feels like i'm shooting... I can't explain it!

Anyway, definitely worth checking out if you haven't already! Worth buying? Certainly!

Well just wanted to add my 2cents...this thing is amazing. We pretty much knew what we were getting with all the other releases but this shocked me off my chair (literally.) The shadow play is done so well, and even the fact that you

doesn't ruin the scares you can get...And I've watched everything from The Exorcist, The Shining, and other classics to Eastern masterpieces like A Tale of Two Sisters and the J-horror scares of stuff like Shutter (Thai) and Ringu (+50 other heres and theres.) The gameplay is pretty awesome too, everything feels brutal and tangible, the framerate so far has been heavenly (a big framerate-ophobe here) and the story seems tight, a 9er in my book so far.

Blame! don't act!

absolutely one of the best and most complete games I played in years - this is to be played at night on a 50 inch plasma in 1080p with surround sound up - total immersion into the world of Deep Space ... love it!

Totally agree, start playing earlier for 30 minutes and the atmosphere of the game is awesome and teh surround sound effects kicks some serious asses. The thing i hate the most in this game its the fact that its a 3rd person shoulder view. I can't stand that.
