Same thing happening here...solution which worked for me, was to ALT-TAB back to Windows, wait couple of seconds and then go back--->FPS goes back to normal.
I'm using 8.10 drivers at the time (+Windows XP 32bit, 3GB RAM with HD3850 512MB, if someone's interested).

Anyone found a fix for the laoding screen ??? Later today it loaded for more then 30 mins and still noting...

sane thing here , on X2 5000 , 2 gb of RAM and HD 4850 ...os is XP..everything else works fine only FC2 freezes

Can someone repost a code for the 6 bonus missions ? I tried tar3QuzU and SpujeN7x but I have 33 main missions available. There should be 36, no ?

On 4850 and PDC @ 3.3Ghz on all max besides shadows to high and with aa on x2 the game doesn't go below 40fps. Wohooo \o/ finally an optimized game.

interesting things you have people. i have no problems with it, playing it almost on max (only 2 settings are bellow max). my specs: AMD X2 5200+, 2GB  ( RAM, 8600GTS
btw, has anyone created a MP server? wanna try it hamachi?

have the same issue! but i didnt wait! i think the prob is that i have singlecore! there was an issue too with AiTD where you had to change the priotity to high but it loads long even with the change! the benchmark utility takes very long too!
im trying to defrag my hdd now and look if it helps!

just started experiencing problems. within 5-6 min my pc freezed 2 times. just started the PC (10min ago, tops). i've been playing this game for about 3 hrs before that and had no problems with it (almost on max detail).
right now, ingame, i must destroy a truck (with some equipment) beloging to some special team (right after the mission with the Belgian informer or whatever nationality that guy is). like i said before my specs are: X2 5200+, 2GB RAM, 8600GTS, XP sp3.
seems i started typping to early when i said i have no problems!
is anyone else experiencing same problems or not?

Playing at 2560x1600 4xaa, 16xaf, all max, no stuttering or lag here using 2 x 4870x2 but I haven't played that long yet.
Using the hotfix (hotfix is actually a newer driver than 8.11 RC1 so you can't be using 8.10 and the hotfix, because once you install hotfix you are 8.11 RC1-2)
I thought the hotfix only makes difference on 4870x2 cards not 4870 cards.

Guys,
have you noticed something very...very wrong on that Kalashnikov AK47 in Far Cry 2?
| Spoiler: | Bolt, bolt carrier handle and fire selector on a real rifle is on the right side, not left. As far as I can remember, thera are no AK47's for left handed ppl.  |

My stuttering disappeared when i switched to Dx9. Can i under dx9 use all settings? I mean can i play the game under dx9 everything on ultra high. I saw no difference between dx10 and 9.

Checked my 8800gt temp and it was fairly hot so i cranked the fan to 80% and kept an eye on it, 15 minutes later i get another reboot but the temps were not that hot this time.
